Dacey.
I heard the name Dacey on a girl the other day. What do you think? It's Irish and it has no known meaning. I think it's kind of pretty.

The first thing I thought when I saw this was "Decay."
Reminds me of the fish dace. Overall okayish, but I wouldn't use it.
Check out what I said below about a possible meaning.
It's not my taste tbh, it reminds me of fish - I think there is a fish called a dace.

I like it. An interesting twist on the more popular Lacey, which I also like, yet Dacey seems more substantial than Lacey.
Better than Daisy.
Better than Tracey, Lacey, or Macey.
So not too bad at all. :o)

I missed the part where you announced to us you were having a baby, so congratulations! :D

Aw thanks. :o)
No, like Dacey. Day-See
It's cute like little kid cute, but I agree it does sound more like a boys name as it grows up with the kid.

Still sounds like Daisy to me. :P
But hey, that might just be me since English isn't my first language. :P

Dacey is DAY-see but Daisy is DAY-zee, with that z sound we don't have in Swedish. (which I didn't learn until I studied English at university last year ...)
Yeah, Dacey and Daisy sound quite different in English! :-)
I don't think it sounds like a boy's name at all. I would find it quite effeminate on a boy.
Well, I'm still stuck thinking along the Irish side of things. It strikes me as a male Irish name for some reason.
I think it's trendy and made-up-y and I don't like it. I also haven't heard of it as Irish, I've only seen it listed as a nn for Candace. Where did you hear it was Irish?
Well I was skeptical about it being Irish too. Then I read under user-contributed that it came from an Irish word meaning southerner. I immediately thought of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Déisi
Déisi would be said Day-shee. Interesting!

Whoops, English. I read this last night and I thought I remembered it saying Irish. And the girl I heard it on told me Irish, too. I should know better by now than to listen to people that aren't on this site. :p
