I like Fanny and Frances, although Fanny's unusable here, which is sad because it's really quite a sweet little name. Francesca is lovely and Fernanda is nice too, and I don't see why Fanny wouldn't work for them. Feliciana and Floriana are too frilly for me and Afanen really bugs me, because it's never been used as a Welsh name, and I have no idea how it got in the database as one!

I know a Fanette, and I've seen Francette and Franceline. Francoise, Franca and Francine would work, too

I couldn't imagine using Fanny. It would be horrible for the child for very plain reasons. I myself would assume the parents were from another planet.

Anyways I think just using "Fanny" would be really neat. I also love the nickname-nickname Fan, it seems so chic. But if you really wanted a full name, I'd maybe stick with another version of Frances. Like Francoise, Francesca, Francine, or even Frankie.

A friend of mine has a sister named Fanny. it is a perfectly normal name here though, so we don't find it weird or anything...

I think Fanny could work as a nickname for any of those names, but I don't like any of them :P

I would advise against using Fanny. I don't know where you're from, but I think in America "fanny" is a slang word for backside, and I know that here in England it is a slang word for female genitals.

Francesca could use the nickname Franny, which is a little better and definitely honour Frances.

Fanny is occasionally used as a nickname for Stephanie here which I think is kinda cute.

I love Fanny! It reminds me of Jane Austen books/times, which weren't perfect, but the names were fabulous! I just wish Fanny wasn't so teasable. Who was the jerk who turned this into a slang word, that's what I want to know?!

You also might want to consider Fan as a nickname, instead of Fanny. Fan is still a traditional nickname for Frances, and it is slightly less teasable. Fan was also the name (or nickname, technically) of Ebenezer Scrooge's sister.

I love Fanny! It's such a throwback.

Frances is easily my favorite full name for it, but I also really like Fernanda NN Fanny.

I think that Fanny would work as a nickname for any of them, but do you really think it's a good idea to use Fanny these days? I had a friend in middle school who had recently immigrated from Uruguay, and her name was Fanny. Apparently there was no problem with the name Fanny in a Spanish-speaking country, but she eventually found it so embarrassing here in the US that she began going by her middle name.
