Re: twin help
in reply to a message by mary
Congratulations.Uh oh. Keely and Kelly are exactly the sort of twinny / matchy names that do not appeal to me at all. I love the name Catherine, but next to Kelly it doesn't flow well. If you are using Catherine to honor someone then of course that is the most important factor. If not, I'd start with looking for another mn for Kelly. Then I'd turn to finding an entirely different fn than Keely for her sister. Just imagine two individuals under one roof whose names differ only in one vowel sound. Year, after year, after year. How about giving one twin your name, Mary, or a variation of it? Sorry I couldn't be more positive. If it makes any difference to you, I love Eric Patrick and Sean Nicolaus. (I love Arthur Edward and Jennifer Lynn too, but I realize you didn't name them.)

Ditto. My mom always calls me Emily (my sister's name), and Aileen and Emily aren't very similar. Keely and Kelly would just be... ridiculous. One has a long E sound, the other a short E sound. That's the only difference. Twins are two completely different people. Why try to give them nearly identical names?I'm also not crazy about Kelly Catherine. The alliteration is just too much. My first thought was Kelly Cecilia. What do you think of it? I'm personally not wild about Cecilia, but I think the combo is quite nice. Plus, it still begins with a C, just a soft C rather than a hard C.I also agree that Eric Patrick and Sean Nicolaus are excellent combos. Try to stick with similarly classic names for your daughters. That way they'll go well together without being matchy. Good luck and congratulations!

I think Kelly and Cassie are good together (like from Cassandra). Also my cousin is having a baby girl. Both her and her husband wanted to name her after their mothers Jennifer and Isabel. They ended up naming their girl Jennibelle. I think it's a realy cute idea. Why don't you play around with family names? My aunt has twin boys called Jack and Joe so sounding kinda similar isn't a bad thing.
