Tate
All of the sudden I'm loving Tate for no real reason. What do you think of Tate, does it seem kind of nerdy? Any combo suggestions I'm not finding anything that strikes me.

When I think of Tate I think of two things, Tate and Lyle who manufacture sugar and the Tate Gallery which I have visited many times since I don't live too far away from it, as well as the Tate Modern.
Tate in terms of a name is short, easy going but fairly trendy. It might also be misheard as Kate.
I don't know if you want it for a girl or a boy so I'll make combos for both.
Henry Tate
Tate Christopher
Oliver Tate / Tate Oliver
Tate Lewis
Tate Peter
Tate Simon
Damian Tate
Tate Robin
Tate Samuel
Tate Rebecca
Tate Kathleen
Tate Miranda
Tate Georgina
Tate Veronica
Tate Louisa
Tate Cassandra
Tate Alexandra
Tate Penelope
Tate Isabel
Tate Melanie
Any ideas?

I don't love it, but I don't find it nerdy. It's all right, not really my favorite. I think it sounds a little too short, staccato, as if the name was cut off before it was finished. It works well as a middle name for me, more than a first name.
Ambrose Tate
William Tate

Reminds me of "Little Man Tate".
I don't like it as a full name, but it is a cute NN.

For a boy or girl? I like it for a boy, it seems very cheery and simple and able to go either way - rugged and outdorrsy and no-fuss to sensitive, artistic and scholarly. I read somewhere that it means "cheerful" and that sums it up nicely for me. I also like it spelled Tait, but Tate seems more flexible.
For some reason i like the idea of pairing it with a nice solid man's name
Tate Alfred
Tate Albert
Tate Roger
Tate Edward
Tate Edmund
Tate Phillip
Tate Louis / Tate Lewis
Tate Franklin
Tate Patrick
Tate Arthur
Tate Frederick
Tate Abner - so cute, but probably not a crowd pleaser)
Tate Christoph
Tate Elliott
Tate Henry (oh my fave I think)
Tate Homer
Tate Leo
Tate Norman
Tate Thomas
Tate William
any good ones?
