I work with a Miranda in her late 20s.
So it's not odd. She's far from what I expected of one, though - I always thought of someone quiet, pretty and slightly exotic but she's pretty down to earth and not that pretty. She's cool, though.I used to adore it but lately I've been pretty meh on it, probably because it lost its' exotic flair when I met one - which is odd. My niece is Miranda but she's never called anything BUT Mira, so I suppose I never thought of her as one.

Jessica just reminded me...I knew of another Miranda as well, also in her late 20s. I took her job from her and was not that impressed with her.Interesting - both of Mirandas I've known have had bad acne scars and long dark hair (that's where the similarities end, though. The DC Miranda was a spoiled brat with an attitude, the one I work with is a really nice if slightly lazy young lady.)
