Eleanor, Elizabeth and Martha
What do you think of these names together with the nicknames Nell, Bess and Mittie?
Can you think of any other classic type names with nicknames that have a double letter. I'd like the nickname to be one that's not as common as other. For example, Margaret nn Maggie is nice, but Maggie is one of the more common nicknames for Margaret. Elle is more common for Eleanor than Nell and half a dozen other names are more common for Elizabeth than Bess.

I love all of those names. Nell and Mittie are cute, but I don't really like Bess too much. My favorite nicknames for Eleanor, Elizabeth, and Martha would be Nora, Libby/Lily/Ellie, and Martie.
As for the other half, there are a lot. Mary nn Molly or Polly, Millicent nn Millie, Sarah nn Sally, and there's also Meggie or Peggy for Margaret. And for Elizabeth there's also Lizzie and Betty.

Love all three, love all together, with the nicknames...
My only problem is that there are two E names and only one M, it makes me want to add another M name.

I like:
Margaret nn Gretta
Millicent nn Millie

Clarissa nn Rissa
Constance nn Connie
Isadora nn Issy
Minerva nn Minnie
Penelope nn Neppy (I've never heard that one before.)

Libby for Elizabeth (also Elsie--I know that it doesn't follow the rule, but I still think that it's really pretty), Millie for Mathilda or Amelia, Liddy for Lydia, Kerry for Kieran, Keely for Keelin, Ebby for Ebony, Ebele, or any other names I can't think of, Tilly for Mathilda, also, Minnie for...Wilhelmina? maybe just Elmina, Winnie (LOVE!) for Winifred, Winter, Winona, Winslett, Winston, Winsome...whatever (:
That's all that I can think of right now.
That's all that I can think of right now.
Millie/Tilly for Mathilda, Liddy for Lydia, Minnie for Wilhemina and Winnie fir Winifred are all very nice. Kieran, Keelin, Ebony and Winslett weren't quite what I was looking for.
I like Nell, but I prefer Elsa as a nn for Elisabeth.

I love Elizabeth and Martha, but I have always dislike Eleanor. I also dislike the nicknames Bess and Mittie. Bess is a cow and always has been; Mittie sounds like "mitigate" or something. Nell is adorable. Go figure, it's on the name I dislike. >< For Elizabeth, I like the nicknames Libby and Betta.
I'll give you the nicknames and then the names that could go with them:

Abigail nn Abby and Mary nn Molly are good, but common for those name. Margaret nn Molly interests me a little.
Jenny seems like too modern a nickname.
Nell is something that I really, really like for Eleanor. Maybe Ellen, but definitely not Helen.
It's not your fault, but I don't like Lilly and Bella at all.
Tibby is cute. I like it on Tabitha, but I'm having trouble seeing it on Isabel.
Libby . . . meh. I've never quite liked it.
Betta is a bit too much like "better."
Addie could be nice for Adeline. Not for Adriana, though. My sister's name is Adrianna and we always call her Adri.
Dell is very sweet. I like it best with Delphina (and maybe a little more with Delphine).
Etta is nice. I like it with Henrietta and Benedetta.

I like Eleanor, Elizabeth, Martha, Nell and Bess. Dislike Mittie. I'm not generally a fan of longer names with nn so I would usse any of the names in my like list as full names.
Here are some nn for Classic names I've heard - they're probably too common but theY have the double letter so here goes.
Veronica-Ronnie
Mildred-Millie
Olivia-Ollie
Emeline-Emmy
Esmeralda-Esmee
Mary-Molly
Dahlia-Dolly
Margaret-Peggy
Dorothy-Dotty
Priscilla-Cilla
Linnea-Linny
Tabatha-Tabby
Abigail-Abbey
Anabelle-Annie/Belle

It's nice, but I prefer Ella (or Nellie) and Libby instead of Nell and Bess. Also, Patty can be a nickname for Martha if you prefer that.
Other names you might like:
Adelaide / Adele / Adelle "Addy / Addie"
Annabel "Belle" or "Bella"
Amelia / Camille "Millie"
Cecilia / Frances / Priscilla "Cissy / Sissy" or "Cilla"
Francesca "Franny" / "Fanny"
I suppose some of those could be too common, but I still think they are nice and not overly popular

I love all three of those names, but I can't stand the nicknames.
I can't think of a good nickname for Eleanor. I like it the way it is.
Elizabeth has Betty, Ellie, and Lizzie, which I think might be too common for your specifications.
Martha has Mattie, which is also kind of common.
Etta; Harriet, possibly Elizabeth
Bella; Arabella, Isabella, Annabella,
Donna (okay, I don't think this is a nickname)
Cassie; Cassia, Cassidy, Cassandra
Minna(I love this on its own)/Minnie; Wilhelmina
