The English pronunciation is "VEER-uh." The Russians pronounce it, "VYEHR-uh."
Who pronounces it, "VEH-ruh?" I've never heard that.
(For what it's worth, I'm in the U.S. and was raised by English / Irish parents and a heavy dose of PBS / BBC.)
I'm not trying to be snotty. I'm really interested because mafiosa has heard the same pronunciation as you.
