The English pronunciation is "VEER-uh." The Russians pronounce it, "VYEHR-uh."
Who pronounces it, "VEH-ruh?" I've never heard that.
(For what it's worth, I'm in the U.S. and was raised by English / Irish parents and a heavy dose of PBS / BBC.)

In Croatia Vera is 'VEH-rah' and Vjera is 'VYEH-rah'.
I say VEH-ruh. Although I think that's just an accent thing, because I tried saying VEER-uh and I felt like I was putting on a really phony American accent. Plus I speak too fast anyway.
