I've always thought it kind of an ugly name, but Ethel's worse.
I love the name Edith nn Edie, it's so pretty. I'd prefer to see it on a baby/little girl than a kitten though.
I love this name, but everyone thinks of it as an old ladies name. I love it anyway.
Torn
One moment it sounds adorable and the next feels like it belongs with Gladys, Phyllis and Prunella in the nursing home.
Hmmmm. Not sure. I do love Edie and prefer it came from Edith over Eden which I feel is slightly loaded.
Edith Poppy popped into my head;) I don't care for Poppy but it seems to work with the more serious Edith.

I love Edith, and nn Edie takes it from teetering on antique and makes it fresh and young! Awesome choice. One of my favorites :)

I love Edith, and the nn Edie is the icing on the cake. :-)
Edith Margaret is my favorite combination, a real "stick to your ribs" kind of combo. Here are a few other ideas:
Edith Constance
Edith Matilda
Edith Georgina
Edith Hope
Edith Ursula
Edith Johanna
Edith Gwendolen
Edith Winifred
Edith Susannah
Edith Miriam
Edith Cecily
Edith Mary
Edith Jocelyn
Edith Rosalie
Edith Jessamine
By the way, just for fun, other ways you could get Edie as a nn: Aida, Freedom, Fredrika / Frieda / Freda / Frida, Leda, Calida, Alida, Edina, Elfrieda / Elfreda, Winifred, Fidelia, Edurne, Aoide, Marguerite / Margarita, Virida. Can anyone add to this?
