I've always wanted to like Irish names, but I've found that so many of them have either an unpronounceable spelling (Gaelic to American English), or they just sound harsh on my ear. There are a few favorites of mine though, and Sean is one of them.Are you from Ireland? My search for Irish names that I can love has been very disappointing to me. Maybe I haven't looked in the right places.

No, I'm American. I love Irish names though, although I don't know if I'd really use any because my family isn't Irish enough. :)

LOL and that's why I wanted to use one! My family is Irish enough... but I just can't pull off a Bláthnaid or a Donnchadh or even just a Seamus. They're just not working for me. And the endless list of popular girls names that end in "een" are just too much. Maureen, Aileen, Cathleen... nice names, but not for me.
