I really like
Asa a lot. It has a handsome masculine strength to it. It's not too popular, in fact I rarely hear it.
My mother has always liked this name and I like it's simplistic spelling but strong sound. The meaning is nice and the Biblical associations are good ones and actually royal ones! :)
The one time I met a guy named
Asa the image I had was not spoiled. The
Asa I met was a server at a pizza place who was punctual and joked with my church youth group and generously put up with our large dine-in order.
He was fairly thin, tall, dark hair and fairly good looking.
