I definitely like it. I find it quite handsome. The only associations I have with it are a female (what is that?) book character who was obsessed with popularity and a kid who my brother was friends with in middle school who fell in with the wrong crowd in high school. So really my associations are personal not overreaching.
The elementary school in my area is called Asa Adams School, so whenever I hear this name I think of that.
I love this name, and met a boy at the skateboard park (when I took my sons to skate) named Asa!
Sometimes when I see the name, I don't know if it's ace-uh or ah-suh though!
I'd totally use this name, though, if I had the chance!

It's all right, I haven't warmed to it but that's because I haven't really thought about it before. It has the potential to grow on me so we'll see.
First association - Asa Briggs the English historian. Very well respected by the looks of it and his books are readable. So that's a positive association for me.

I like it. It's on my long list. It's short, spunky, unusual and biblical- and it has an awesome nn, Ace. Whats not to love?
I really like Asa a lot. It has a handsome masculine strength to it. It's not too popular, in fact I rarely hear it.
My mother has always liked this name and I like it's simplistic spelling but strong sound. The meaning is nice and the Biblical associations are good ones and actually royal ones! :)
The one time I met a guy named Asa the image I had was not spoiled. The Asa I met was a server at a pizza place who was punctual and joked with my church youth group and generously put up with our large dine-in order. He was fairly thin, tall, dark hair and fairly good looking.
I really like Asa and it is featured outside my top ten favorites and paired with names such as Benjamin, Luke, and Jasper.

I prefer Ava.
I would name a boy Asa, not a girl.
(Love Ava on a girl.)

I like it, but the only association I have with it, is my grandparents' mane coon cat. It's not that bad until you find out they named him Asa because it stands for Another Stupid Animal :P
That's hilarious!
I still like the name. :)

It's the name of my (sort-of) boyfriend :-D So, I'm biased, but I really like it. I liked it before I knew my Asa, actually. It's very handsome and underused but not unheard of.
Those are the names I love...handsome, underused, but not unheard of...
Thanks!
Thanks!
Meh. I like ASS-ah, but there's the obvious problem with it having "ass" right in there. AY-sah sounds whiney and cutesy, not to mention vaguely feminine. I don't hate it, but I don't really like it either.
Never heard of ASS-ah before, but you're right, there is kind of an obvious overtone with that.
