I do find it clunky and a bit ugly.
My first thought wasn't the book/film, it looks like an old-lady name.
Madeleine is nicer (but maybe too common).

Hmmm...I used to think it was an old lady name as well. Not entirely sure what changed.
Madeleine is very nice, I agree, but I went to look at the baby photo competition in my town with my mum and there were lots and lots of little Madeline's so idk...
I really like Matilda Genevieve and Matilda Charlotte though.
