I like Indy a bit. My little cousin's name is India and that is her most frequent nickname.

The only full names I can think of are Indiana and Indigo.

I prefer the spelling Indie. What about Indigo or Indiana?

BOY
Indian (masculine name from Indiana) - I suppose you could use this, although some people may find it risky. It has a cowboy feel to me; like Wyatt, Colt, or Montana.
Indus - The Indus is the name of a river in India.
Independent / Independence - If you're feeling in a hippy mood.

Not a fan. I think of indie music, or it's a nn for Indiana which I don't care for. Some other names it could be a nn for (not sure if you want male or female so I'll suggest both):Indah
Indira
Indu
Ingegerd
Ingrid
Ingvild
Inmaculada
IolandaInderjit
Inderpal
Indra
Indigo
Isandro
Iskender

I don't think it's a very good name for a real person. It just makes me think of Indiana Jones (who is awesome at least). The only other name besides Indiana that I think it could be short for is Indigo, but I think that's a horrible name. There are several Indian names that begin with Ind- too.

It just makes me think of hipsters, you know, indie. So it feels faddish to me.
