I have no idea where it came from originally, but it was my Great-Great-Grandmother's name, and I think it is so gorgeous. Do any of you know where I might find out more about it?

From what I can tell, it appears to be the feminine form of Sholem. I'm guessing (an educated guess, but a guess nonetheless) that Sholem is a variation of Shalom, meaning peace? Perhaps someone more knowledgable can either substatiate or refute my theory. :o)
