DS / DS: Valerian Eirwyn Alexis & Aquila Llewellyn AlanDD / DD: Flaminia Elinor Frances & Lucasta Cecilia ClaireDS / DD: Taliesin Hilarion Niall & Nimue Philippa Scarlett
I have a thing for Latin names and another thing for Welsh myth. It shows . . .
vote up1
I love Nimue!
vote up1
vote up1
Llewellyn has been on my mind a lot lately. Nice.
I love Elinor Frances and Cecelia Claire. I think they'd be lovely even by themselves.
Philippa is a gp for me. It strikes me beautifully, but I would never use it. It goes well in this combo, though.
vote up1
I like Llewellyn, Cecilia and Scarlett.
vote up1
Nimue is so sweet.
vote up1
Ooh, I love Valerian Eirwyn Alexis and Lucasta Cecilia Claire. To be honest, I've never heard of Flaminia before but I think it sounds lovely and it flows very well with the Elinor Frances. I'm just wondering though, how are you pronouncing Flaminia?
vote up1
This is a guess (I've never heard it said) but fle-MIN-i-a seems the most natural pronunciation :)
vote up1

Susanna is lovely and Jude and Miles are both terribly handsome.
vote up1
I love Susanna(h) Beatrix & Rosemary Niamh both, and they're great together. I also loved Miles and Jude. Oleander and Ignatius aren't huge favorites but they're not bad and they def sound like brothers, IMO. :)

vote up1
I love Mariella Grace & Calliope Lucia
vote up1
Like Joel, Josiah, Grace, and Gabriel. Like Lilly as a nn.
vote up1
Gabriel Vincent and Josiah Benedict are both great.
vote up1
Gabriel VincentGabriel Vincent is great. They're two of those names that aren't necessarily my own personal favorites but I still think they're very cool. They're both classic names to me but as a combo they have an interesting edge.
vote up1
Henry and August are a great sibset!
vote up1
I love Henry Atticus, August Sebastian & Ingrid Magnolia
vote up1
Go Gus. :D Henry and August are great. Falling in love with Gus as a nn. :DThe combos all work really well. =)
vote up1
Love Atticus, esp. as a mn!
vote up1
Love them all! Esp. August "Gus" and Ingrid Magnolia
vote up1
August Sebastian is terrific and I adore Margot Eloise.
vote up1
Those are wonderful!
What would you call Ingrid?
vote up1
Ingrid :)
vote up1
Opinions, please! :)DD/DD: Lily Avalon / Sophia Azalea "Sophie"
DD/DS: Lily Annabelle / Thomas Holden
DS/DS: Thomas Holden / William John
vote up1
I prefer Lily Annabelle to Lily Avalon (Avalon sounds like a surname to me) and William John is a very nice traditional-sounding sort of combination.I think Sophie Azalea flows better than Sophia Azalea (and is less rhymey) but either is lovely.
vote up1
Avalon is lovely. It's great to see Sophia nn Sophie rather than Sophie as a fn. Thomas Holden is very handsome, and I like both William and John, but maybe not together. Hmmm...
The unique Azalea balances out the common Sophia well, and Lily Avalon is similar.
vote up1
I like Lily & Holden
vote up1
I like Holden and William.
vote up1
My opinion:
I love Lily, Annabell, Sophie, and William. For me John and Thomas are a bit too boring, while Holden is too trendy and Sophia is way too popular (though Sophie is really, too). Avalon and Azalea are just a bit too out there for me, especially Avalon which sounds more like a product name or the name of a space ship on Star Trek than a name. But, Azalea, is actually kind of interesting the more I think about it...
vote up1
William John is great. Sometimes, you gotta settle for the plain ones, right? :D I also really like Lily Annabelle. Great choices!
vote up1
Those are all lovely, if a little common. I prefer Lily Annabelle to Lily Avalon. Thomas Holden is nice. What would you call William John?
vote up1
Nice to see Thomas.
vote up1
Ooh, nice.Lily and Sophia NN Sophie are great names for twin girls. Lily Avalon is very beautiful (I so love Avalon as a name). Sophia Azalea compliments it very well.Thomas Holden is very handsome. I love Thomas (as long as he's not Tom/Tommy). Holden's a name I like too (my favorite combo is Jasper Holden NN Perry.) However, I think that Lily Avalon would go better with Thomas Holden than Lily Annabelle does. They work much better together in my opinion.William is a favorite name of mine (always NN Will or Liam, never Bill or Billy). John seems a bit too short-sounding though. All in all, awesome names.
vote up1
This is tough. But I think I'd go with:DS / DS: Joachim Philip / Thomas Tiago
DD / DD: Lydia Temperance / Zelda Lenore
DS / DD: Joachim Thomas / Lydia Temperance
vote up1
Lydia Temperance is excellent. I also like both the Joachim combinations, though Joachim Thomas edges it over Joachim Philip for me. :)
vote up1
Lydia Temperance is lovely though Lydia is nms.
vote up1
Lydia Temperance is gorgeous. I love more classic, simple names in the fn spot with word names for the mn. So pretty! I also really like Joachim Philip and Tiago. :)
vote up1
I love your girl names. Zelda and Lydia are an awesome sibset and their middle names rock. I've never really seem the appeal of Joachim, but Thomas is nice.
vote up1
I love Lydia!
vote up1
I love Lydia Temperance!
vote up1
Lydia Temperance is beautiful!
vote up1
I love Joachim and Tiago! I vote for them both as FNs :D
Lydia Temperance flows nicely.
vote up1
Hmm...Today I'd go with:DS / DS: William Vaughn / Edward Bryn
DD / DD: Sioned Marie / Finola Bronwen
DS / DD: Evan James / Carys Ann
vote up1
I like William, Edward and Carys.
vote up1
fun... very English and very Irish at the same time... I really like William, Bronwen, Evan, James and Carys. I like Brynn better with two "n"s and for a girl. And Finola just doesn't do it for me: I'd much prefer Fiona. Edward is kind of great in that old-man sort of way - ready for a comeback. Overall, creative yet substantial - I like! :)

This message was edited 4/28/2007, 4:10 PM

vote up1
I really like William Vaughn and Evan James. Finola has also been on my mind lately, I love the nn Nola. :)
vote up1
I like William, Marie, and Evan James.
vote up1
Evan James is nice, as is William. Bronwen is such a beautiful name! It makes me think of a strong, wise, beautiful woman. Edward has been growing on me just a bit, but I like Bryn for a girl.
vote up1
Cieran Adair & Roman Artorius
Morgen November & Allegra Justine
Cieran Aloysius and Morgen ElizabethMiddle names for Cieran and Morgen are always changing. I haven't found the right mn just yet.
vote up1
I like Roman & Justine
vote up1
I love Allegra Justine :)
I wouldn't use Elizabeth as a mn, because probably about a third of the girls I know have it, but it's a fine name.
I would also use Morgan instead of Morgen because my first instinct for Morgen is "Morje - in."
vote up1
Morgan is great but I'm partial to Morgen since I love the German, Danish and Dutch meaning of "morning" rather then the Welsh "sea" meaning.
vote up1
I like Cieran and Elizabeth.
vote up1
Allegra is so pretty. I don't normally like November at all, but Morgen November almost wins me over. :) Morgen Elizabeth is very, very nice.
vote up1
I'm glad you like Morgen November. It seems to get mixed results.
vote up1
Wow, I really couldn't decide. :PHmmm...DS/DD: Benjamin Alexander (Ben or Benji) / Leah (Lay-uh) Victoria
or
DS/DD: Henry Thomas Rainier (Harry) / Katherine Isabella Rose (Katie Rose)DD/DD: Charlotte Amelie Skye (Charlie or Charlie Skye) / Isobel Keira Madeleine (Izzy)
or
DD/DD Charlotte Alexandra (Charlie) and Tallulah Arcadia (Tally Kate)DS/DS: William Charles (Liam)/James Matthew (Jamie)
or
DS/DS: Jordan Nathaniel (Danny) / Lucas Michael (Luke)And those are just for now.

This message was edited 4/28/2007, 3:13 PM

vote up1
Tallulah Arcadia is fantastic. The others are nice too, and you get points from me for Rainier, which is an excellent name.
vote up1
Yay, good reviews for Tallulah Arcadia. I wasn't sure if anyone would like it. I had a hard time picking a name with "tal" in it, because I was thinking a name pronounced like "Tal-uh-sin" before I realized the only similar name was a boy's name. And brownie points for Rainier, whee. I read a book where a character's last name was Rainer (the German form) so I looked to see if it could be a first name, and found Rainier, which sounds even better.
vote up1
Nice...Benjamin and Nathaniel are top faves for me. Victoria, Katherine, James, Matthew, and Luke are the next tier down of my favorites, and I also like Leah (much prefer LEE-uh), Thomas, Rose, Charlotte, Keira, and William.
Danny is a great nn for Jordan! Katie is sweet as well, and Ben is great. I don't care for Benji, Harry, Charlie, or Jamie.
I'd say my favorite of your names is Leah Victoria, it's lovely.
vote up1
Glad you like the names. The idea od Harry is still iffy. I'm not sure if I like it enough. Benji's just kind of a GP name. I don't know why I always use Charlie for Charlotte. Just like it better than Lottie, I guess. As for Jamie, I can't stand Jimmy/Jim, and I just think Jamie is a neat name for a boy.I pronounce Leah as Lay-uh because of growing up hearing it that way at Hebrew School (which my mom made me go to until last year). Leah as in the older sister of Rachel and one of the wives of Jacob. I just loved how it was pronounced Lay-uh. Leia just is weird looking to me, and Lee-uh, I prefer spelled Lia.
vote up1
Yeah, I don't care for Jimmy or Jim either. For James, I rather like Jem (no connection to the word gem in my mind). I think I like Char best for Charlotte, I'm not crazy about Lottie.
I guess the only reason that I really like LEE-uh is because it's the way I've always heard it pronouced, maybe because I'm Christian instead of Jewish? Dunno, it just seems normal to me, and LAY-uh seems different, but I could definitely see why you would like it better if it was the traditional pronounciation for you. I like the spelling Leah, regardless of how you pronounce it.
vote up1
DS / DS: Alexander Michael and William David 'Sandy' and 'Billy'
DD / DD: Marina Caroline and Mattea Elisabeth 'Marie' and 'Mattie'
DS / DD: Alexander William and Marina Caroline
vote up1
I really like Alexander Michael and Marina Caroline.
vote up1
They're all classics. I really like Caroline.
vote up1
Alexander Michael and Alexander William are both classic sounding.
vote up1
I love Mattea.
vote up1
I like:Alexander
William David
Caroline
Mattea Elizabeth (this spelling)
vote up1
William is nice, but I prefer nn Will. Caroline and Elisabeth are lovely, and Mattie is a cute nn.
vote up1
I absolutely love Mattea!
Need to steal that from you. ;)
vote up1
Hmmm..DS / DS: Mikhail Alexei nn Misha and Matthias Abram
DD / DD: Lucretia Simonetta nn Lucy and Lucinda Iolanthe nn Linda
DS / DD: Nathaniel Clyde nn Nate and Gwyneira Lenore nn Winnie
These are probably just momentary favorites, but they're what I feel like right now.

This message was edited 4/28/2007, 12:44 PM

vote up1
Mikhail Alexei nn Misha is fantastic. I love Misha as a nn for Mikhail.
vote up1
ClydeI love seeing Clyde in there. :-) It's fun to read the female twins' names before it--so long and lyrical--and then at the next line, there's Clyde, totally frank and deadpan. Like crickets interrupted with a frog bellow.
vote up1
Exactly! That's kinda what I was going for lol.
vote up1
I like all of those a lot. Lucy and Linda, Misha and Matthais, Nate and Winnie are all adorable sibsets.
vote up1
Love Nathaniel, of course, and Matthias Abram is very nice. I like nns Nate and Lucy, but I'd prefer Lucinda nn Lucy.
vote up1
Lucia Artemis is beautiful.
vote up1
Linnea Johanna and Elisa are beautiful!

This message was edited 4/28/2007, 3:46 PM

vote up1
Like Adam, and Henry and Johanna are growing on me.
vote up1
Hugo Johannes / Lucia Artemis: very nice match.
vote up1
Adam and Lucia (loo-CHEE-ah) are lovely!
vote up1
Nina Sophie and Maya JaneNina Sophie and Ethan JamesJames William and Oliver Miles
vote up1
I love Nina Sophie! Maya is pretty too. Just think I'd pick a different middle name than Jane with Maya. Jane is just too plain for me. And, Ethan James is very nice.
vote up1
I love Oliver Miles
vote up1
Ignore

This message was edited 4/28/2007, 9:00 PM

vote up1
Ethan James, James William and Oliver Miles are all equally handsome.
vote up1
NinaI think Nina's adorable. Short and sweet. :-) I'd just love Nina Jane, to rearrange your combos a bit.
vote up1
Jane is such a nice mn. Nina Sophia would be lovely, and Sophie is ok. Ethan James is simple and nice, as is James William. James and Oliver sound good together, even if Oliver is not a fave. Ethan Miles would also be great.
vote up1
I never get tired of seeing Nina Sophie & Maya Jane. They just melt my heart & make an irresistible twinset.
vote up1
Whoa, I like Calista and Lark (though spelled Callista and Laerk).
Calista Nimue is awesome. :D
vote up1
vote up1
Tavish Owen is great.
vote up1
Dulcinea is sweet (no pun intended). Owen is nice also.
vote up1
Love Tavish! I had contemplated that name sometime in the past as a way to honor my father (named Thomas). I love Calista as well... but I think I would spell it with two L's.
vote up1
Calista Nimue is a lovely combo. Nimue is one of my favourite names too! I also really like Lark.FirChlis
vote up1
I like Calista, Nimue & Lark.
vote up1
DS/DS: Isaac William and Jasper Thomas
DD/DD: Thea Angelica and Calla Rebecca/Willow Eva
DS/DD: Isaac William and Juliet LilyAll of the mns are family names, but I'm totally open to suggestions if anyone thinks the combos should be switched around.
vote up1
I love Isaac William, Willow Eva, and Juliet Lily. Very nice.

This message was edited 4/29/2007, 6:50 AM

vote up1
I think Rebecca Willow would also be lovely.
vote up1
I really like Isaac, William, Jasper (I love this!), Eva, Juliet and Lily. Thea and Calla just don't do it for me - I think they just sound a bit insubstantial to me. I would prefer Eva Rebecca and Willow Angelica (though I'm not a huge fan of Willow either). That probably didn't help, but that's what I'm thinking right now... :)
vote up1
I vote Calla Rebecca. Also, Juliet Lily is so cute and I like Issac, William, and Thomas. I like Issac Thomas a bit better, but not Jasper William, so I'd probably leave them as they are. Juliet Eva would be very pretty as well.
vote up1
I love Isaac. I really like Calla and Lily.
vote up1
Thea is so cute. Love Jasper, too!
vote up1
Isaac and Jasper go well together IMO
vote up1
I love Isaac- it has such a great meaning. I rather like Jasper too, and they sound good together. I really love Thea, but unfortunatley can;t use it with my future DD Xanthe. Juliet Lily is a very pretty combo, and Calla is nice too.Great names.
vote up1
Juliet Lily is cute.
vote up1
I like Calla, you don't hear it very often. Juliet is lovely too!I also like Juliet Rebecca.
vote up1

vote up1

vote up1
just the old standbysDD/DD: Lucinda Maren / Bianca Madelyn
DS/DS: Everett James / Rowan Henry
DD/DS: Lucinda Maren / Rowan Henry-Tate

Lucinda Maren is lovely and Everett James is quite handsome.
vote up1
I love Lucinda Maren and Everett James!
vote up1
Everett James is very handsome. I also like Lucinda.
vote up1
They're all pretty great, actually :)
vote up1
Henry Augustus was my very first Henry combo! I have a soft spot for it based on that. Henry Leopold is more towards my more recent incarnation -- I love Henry Leo- but the -pold doesn't do much for me. Henry Leonidas was my version. Still, very nice. Oliver, Cordelia, Beatrice (over -trix, but same idea), Matilda and Isolde are also on my lists.
vote up1
Hehe, I had noticed we had a lot of similarities in our name choices from random other posts! I like Leonidas a lot, but I fear with 300 having been released recently that it would only be associated with the movie. Although I used Isolde, and that brings to mind Tristan and Isolde, so I really will have to reconsider Leonidas! I like both Beatrix and Beatrice, and am back and forth over which I like best.
vote up1
Charles Leopold, Henry Augustus, Charles Augustus and Henry Leopold are all equally handsome.
vote up1
Oooh, pretty!I adore Charles and Henry as twin FNs. Leopold is so regal, I love it. Augustus is equally regal (well, technically emperor-al :P). I'd say go with Charles Leopold and Henry Augustus. Flows better.Matilda and Beatrix are both names working their way up in my favorites list. Cordelia's always been a favorite and Evangeline's growing too.Nathanael Oliver is so handsome and Delilah Isolde is very pretty.
vote up1
Thank you!
I agree Henry Augustus flows better but I just realized his initials would spell HAM. And Henry Leopold it is!
vote up1
I love Oliver and really like Matilda.
vote up1
Finally someone who prefers Nathanael to Nathaniel! Lovely. I also like Cordelia Evangeline!
vote up1
I love your boy names, a lot. Such handsome little kings. Of course, they're extremely similar to my boy names, so naturally I would think that :)Matilda Beatrix and Cordel
Okay I won't list all of them I like all of them a lot.
vote up1
Love Augustus and Matilda Beatrix
vote up1
I adore Cordelia. Nice to see Leopold & Beatrix.
vote up1
Cordelia Evangeline is quite nice, and I love Nathanael.

vote up1
???Where? Here on the board or is it a name of a serial killer?????? :-).
vote up1
No!! Don't worry, it's nothing like that! It just seems familiar, I don't really know why. I really like it though. :)FirChlis

I have an uncle named Lawrence Douglas :)
Elizabeth Antonia is nice - I very rarely see Elizabeth as a first name anymore. Rachael Miriam is great.
vote up1
No kidding!I don't think I've ever even met someone whose first name was Lawrence, and Douglas tends to be few and far between around here, too. That's so cool to hear that that combo is really floating around out there. :-)
vote up1
All very handsome and classy names. Rachael Miriam is my favorite, but Lawrence Douglas and Elizabeth Antonia are also nice.
vote up1
Love Antonia, and Elizabeth Antonia is nice :)
vote up1
I like:Lawrence
William
Elizabeth
Rachel Miriam (this spelling)Elizabeth and Rachel are a great twinset!
vote up1
I love Rachel Miriam.William Raymond is really cool, too. I think Raymond just has such a cool, retro vibe.
vote up1
RaymondI don't specifically choose family names but being related to so many Raymonds has definitely contributed to how much I like it. :-) My close relatives include a Douglas Raymond, Brian Raymond, Raymond Anthony, and Raymond Peter. I"d be really surprised if there wasn't another Raymond Something or Something Raymond among my generation's children.

Lucas is definatley a favourite of mine- if only it wasn't so popular! Same goes for Ethan. Great names, and they sound good together, as do both combo's.Amelia Juliet is lovely, and I love Anneliese!

vote up1
I love Ezra Noble, August Nathaniel & Ivy Colette.
vote up1
I love Nathaniel and Ivy, and like Ezra and Celeste. Liora Celeste is pretty. I would love Ezra Nathaniel and Ivy Celeste. :)
vote up1
Ivy Celeste is really pretty.I like it. My bf, however, is set on using Ivy Perpetua. (And he'd actually veto all of these names. :-( Nathaniel August and Liora Celeste I might get by him.)
vote up1
Ivy Perpetua is pretty. The best part to me is Ivy, so as long as it's there, I think it's lovely. :)
vote up1
I love Ezra Noble, August Nathaniel, and Ivy Colette.
vote up1
Oooh August Nathaniel!Yay for August- my favourite boys name. And the combo August Nathaniel gets two thumbs up from me- mind if I steal it as a possibility? I am 99% sure my Gus will be an August Malachi, but its always nice to have options.Liora Celeste is gorgeous too :)
vote up1
Of course you can steal it.:-D I've done it before. Thanks for the comments.

vote up1
Minerva and Benedict are adorable!!!!
vote up1
Henry and Charlotte sound perfect together.
vote up1
Would you use a nn for Charlotte? My cousin is Charlotte nn Lottie, and I just love Lottie! I'm not a fan of any of the other Charlotte nn's, but Lottie is great- just a suggestion :) Charlotte Adele is a nice combo, as is Henry Benedict.Coincidently, Lottie is a twin- her twin brother is James Frederick. But I find James rather boring and would much prefer Charlotte and Henry ;)
vote up1
I would probably try to avoid Charlie, but it might become inevitable. Lottie is adorable.James Frederick is very handsome, but I agree that James is overused and kind of dull. I prefer Henry as well :)
vote up1
Well, if it helps, Lottie is never called Charlieby anyone...so I think it can deffinatley be avoided, especially if she's already got another nn, eg Lottie.
vote up1
I like them all really (maybe not Rena, but it's not bad). I esp. love Adele, Simon, and Henry. :)
vote up1
Thanks :) Rena and Adele are my grandmothers, and I only started thinking about Rena recently - it's not that pretty, I concluded, but it's just cool-sounding, and nobody is named that. And she's called "Reen" when we're in a hurry, which I think is a cool noise.
vote up1
Love Charlotte Adele and Henry Benedict!
vote up1
Rosalie Simone is wonderful! I'm a big fan of Simone!
vote up1
Piera Catherine is beautiful.

I love August Rowan and Henry August.
vote up1
Beautiful names.
vote up1
Nora and Henry sound really great together.
vote up1
Loving August (Gus)!
vote up1

And Henry Franklin and Isla Candis, and Nora Augusta.
Rowan hasn't ever appealed to me very much, but it's nice enough.
vote up1
I love Nora & Henry August. Both are so charming.
vote up1
I like so many of your names. I love Henry and Nora. I think those would really make a good sib set. I also like Nora and Isla. I've been thinking a lot about both of them, but especially Nora, lately. They would make a lovely sibset.
vote up1
It just recently struck me how nice Henry & Nora sound for a brother and sister. :)
vote up1
Yay, August!love it, my fav boys name :) I also love Nora, although I slightly prefer the Norah spelling. And Isla is gorgeous too. And Henry August is a great combo! Nice names.
vote up1
From yours I like August Rowan and Isla.

vote up1
I like Kathryn and Isabella.
vote up1
Jacob Daniel and Joshua Issac are nice. Kathryn and Clara are lovely.
vote up1
Jacob Daniel and Joshua Isaac and Isabella Clara are very sweet. How would you call Isabella? One of my teachers recently had a child named Isabella Kathleen and she is very insistant that she is ISABELLA, not Izzy or Belle or Bella or Isabelle. I would think that would be difficult to keep up.
vote up1
I would call her mainly Isabella but maybe on occasion Ella. As she gets older I'm sure she is going to have nn's at school but whatever she wants to go by is fine with me.
vote up1
I love Isaac & Clara
vote up1
I like Paris, even though Ms. Hilton wrecks it for me personally I do like it for someone else, and I love Clara and Isaac!
vote up1
Yikes, TWO boys names?Well at least the girls are easy!DD/DD: Xanthe Lyric Jemima and Elodie Frances Delphine (Ay-lo-dee, its french)
DD/DS: Xanthe Lyric Jemima and August Malachi "Gus"
DS/DS: August Malachi "Gus" and...hmm Luca Veritas (for today anway, lol)
vote up1
August Malachi is very strong sounding.
vote up1
I adore Xanthe, Elodie, August and Malachi!
vote up1
I find it tough to come up the boys' names too.Of yours I like:
Xanthe Jemima- Xanthe is great and I love the X initial. Lyric might grow on me.
Elodie Frances Delphine- particularly love Delphine.
August Malachi- although I slightly prefer Malachy because it is a family name.I really like Luca with August "Gus". Good job!
vote up1
I love Xanthe, Elodie and August. I don't know if I particularly like the name Jemima, though. I think Elodie Frances Delphine is gorgeous. Just curious, how do you personally pronounce Xanthe?
vote up1
Its Zan-thee :) And Jemima is used to honour my dad
vote up1
Elodie is so pretty, it just dances off the tongue. Jemima is sweet, and I really like Frances. Malachi is another favorite, though I'm not crazy about August. They sound good together. I'm loving Veritas.
vote up1
August Malachi is cute. I also like Elodie and Luca!

I love Isaac ChristopherMy brother is Christopher Isaac. :-D
vote up1
Isaac Cristopher is very strong. Anna Michelle and Madeline Lucia are adorable.
I've known about five Kyles, and they've all been really lame, so I don't particularly like Kyle.
vote up1
vote up1
I love Isaac & Anna
vote up1
Issac Christopher and Madeline Lucia are lovely. So perfect together. Anna is a personal fave, but Michelle is not.
vote up1
I love Isaac, Anna, Madeline and Lucia.
vote up1
I love Angus, Elizabeth, and Margaret.
vote up1
Wow Fintan is a new name for me. I really like it. Also like Rose and Freya.
vote up1
I like:
Fintan
Angus & Alfred - but not together
Freya
Rose Margaret - love seeing Rose as a fn!
vote up1
Fintan Thomas is very handsome. I like both of your girls' names, and they sound great together. Lissy is such a sweet nn for Elizabeth.
vote up1
Rose is really pretty.

Hmmm... today I'd say:Elijah Daniel & Nathanael Peter (Eli & Nat)
Abigail Ruth & Anna Eleanor (Abbey & Anna)
Nathanael Quinn / Quentin & Katherine Elaine / Ruth (Nat & Kit)I would normally say Katherine Ruth, but Katherine Elaine is just on my mind today. Also, which do you prefer of Quinn/Quentin? I think Peter Nathanael flows better than Nathanael Peter, but I just love Nathanael as a fn (and Nathaniel is ok too). While we're at it, what are your fave combos from this set of names? I like all of them very much, but can't figure out the best way to combine them. Thanks!Benjamin
Elijah
Peter
Nathanael
Daniel
Micah
Allen (only as a mn)
Quentin (only as a mn)
vote up1
I adore Eleanor. It's so timeless.
Nathanael Quinn is my favourite combo even though I don't usually like Quinn.
vote up1
the delights of Eleanor*Sigh* I could go on and on about Eleanor. I agree completely, it's just so classy and elegant and sweet. Like a string of pearls. :)
vote up1
I love Elijah and Nathanael (esp this spelling!) as a sibset!
I kind of prefer the flow of Katherine Elaine to Katherine Ruth.
Neither Quinn nor Quentin is my style, but Quinn sounds better to me. Peter Nathanael does flow better, but I like Nathanael in the fn spot too!
Nathanael Allen
Daniel Quinn
Elijah Benjamin
Peter Allen Micah
Quentin Elijah
Daniel Allen
Peter Benjamin
vote up1
Love Nathanael Allen...I agree that Katherine Elaine sounds better, but I like Ruth ever so much better. Daniel Quinn and Elijah Benjamin are very nice, but I really love Nathanael Allen! It's a favorite first name with an honoring mn. Thanks so much for that one, it's definitely going on the short short list!
vote up1
I like:Elijah Daniel
Nathanael Peter
Abigail Ruth
Anna
Katherine Ruth
vote up1
Thanks. I wasn't sure of the flow on Nathanael Peter, so it's good to know someone else approves.
vote up1
Love Elijah, and Nathaniel (this spelling only- the Nathanael spelling just looks wrong to me, but maybe thats because I'm so used to the other spelling. I think they make great names for brothers...my other fav of your list is Micah- I adore Micah. Combo ideas: Micah Nathanael, Micah Allen, Micah Quinn. I much prefer Quinn to Quentin. As for to girls, I really like Abigail and wish it wasn't so popular! Abigail Ruth is very pretty- Ruth is my Grandma's name. I like Anna and love Eleanor, but I really don;t like how they sound together, sorry. I'd rather Eleanor as sister to Abigail- they could be Abby and Nora! Too cute. I like Katherine too. I prefer Ruth to Elaine, but I think Katherine Elaine sounds better so thats my pick.
vote up1
I like either spelling of Nathanael. Micah Nathaniel was my original pick, but I'm not as sure about it since I like Nathanael so much that I would want to use it as a fn. Thanks for your vote on Quinn v. Quentin.
Ditto on Abigail's popularity. I like Abigail Ruth enough to overcome my fears of it, though. Abbey and Nora would be sweet, as would Abbey and Ellie or Abbey and Nell, etc. Anna Eleanor doesn't have the best flow, though I like the way it looks. Hmmm...
Thanks for your comments. They were quite helpful!
vote up1
I like:
Nathanael Peter - only because of the nn Nat :b
Ruth
Anna Eleanor
Quinn
vote up1
I love nn Nat. :) And thanks for your vote on Quinn v. Quentin. I like Quinn as a girl's mn, but I'm not so sure for a boy. What about Eleanor Quinn?
vote up1
I only like Quinn for a boy
vote up1
I love Elijah Daniel and Anna.
vote up1
Thanks.

vote up1
I really like Julian & Gavin

L. told me he wanted to give our kids Greek or Roman names so I'm running with it. I've gone for a constellation theme. There is a healthy smattering of honouring too. I'm pretty proud of myself.DS / DS: Theodore Castor/ Hector Pollux
or Theodore Octavian and Hector Claudius
Either way it is Theo and HectorDD / DD: Alcyone Octavia/ Nephele Cassiopeia
or Alcyone Augusta/ Nephele Astraea
Alcie and EffieDS / DD: Theodore Claudius/ Alcyone Octavia
Edited to add, they should totally be Theodore Apollo and Alcyone Artemis shouldn't they!
Theo and Alcie

This message was edited 4/28/2007, 10:00 AM

vote up1
I love Theodore Octavian and Nephele Cassiopeia. I love the constellation theme you've got going on there!
vote up1
Excellent all roundI love pretty much all of those, but the girls' names stand out. Alcyone is a long-term love of mine and Nephele is wonderful too. Nephele Astraea is probably my favourite of those going, but Alcyone Artemis is a stroke of genius as well.
vote up1
You have some great names. I really like Pollux, Octavian, Octavia, Augusta, Apollo, and Artemis.
vote up1
Ooooh, great namesI love Theodore Octavian "Theo" and I would totally use Theo myself, but can't with future DD Xanthe. And Alcyone Octavia "Alcie" is gorgeous, as is the name Nephele- another favourite. I think my fav of the Nephele combos is Nephele Astraea.I gota say that Theodore Claudius and Alcyone Octavia "Theo and Alcie" is one of the best boy/girl twin sets I have seen ever.
vote up1
Wow, thank you! That is really sweet of you. I'm experimenting a bit and it is heartening to get such a good repsonse. :)
vote up1
Hey, I have to say thanks to you tooI'd never heard of Alcyone before, and it just jumped straight onto my list as my #3 girl's name. Really love it, and its hard for me to find names like that. I've really been struggling with girls names that I love besides Xanthe and Elodie, so thankyou! And I was being honest- I really do think they are fantastic names! So your welcome.
vote up1
And I have to say you're welcome too!I appreciate the honesty and the thanks. I'm glad you like Alcyone it is so beautiful and has a nice story behind it too. I especially adore it for the nn Alcie which I think honours my sister Alice. It does have a similar feel to Xanthe and Elodie, now that I think about it. :)
vote up1
I like:
Theodore Octavian - fabulous combo
Hector - this is growing on me
Octavia
Augusta
nn Effie
vote up1
I really like all these names from Greek mythology. I think Nephele and Pollux are great names. I also like Octavia and Theodore.
vote up1
Nice mythical feel.
vote up1
Theodore is a great name and Effie is quite cute for Nephele. I would vote Octavian over Castor, Octavia over Augusta, and Astraea very narrowly over Cassiopeia. Theodore Apollo and Alcyone Artemis would be very fun.
vote up1
Heh, Alcie is another anagram of Alice ;)How are you saying Alcyone? The database says al-SIE-uh-nee, but that doesn't seem to fit with nn Alcie. I reserve judgement on the combos until I find out :pI really like Nephele Cassiopeia, it sounds great! Theodore Octavian and Hector Claudius sound good together too.
vote up1
The possibility of the nn Alcie for my sister Alice is one of the reasons I like Alcyone. I pronounce Alcie al-SEE and Alcyone pretty much the way it is in the database al-SIE-o-nee. I think I can get away with Alcie from that.
vote up1
Okay, I like it :)Alcyone Octavia is my favourite of your Alcyone combos, even though I don't usually like Octavia. Alcyone Artemis sounds nice, but the first place I saw Artemis was in Artemis Fowl so I have a bit of a problem with it on a girl, despite its history.
vote up1
Wow, those are so great! I love Castor & Pollux and Apollo & Artemis for mn's, very funny.
vote up1
I also love Greek and Roman names :)
vote up1
I'll use my current "loves"DS / DS: River & Brooklyn or Shiloh
DD / DD: Charlotte & Anne Marie or Heaven (yeah, I'm on a Heaven trip, lol, however I would most likely if ever (which I doubt) use it as a MN instead]
DS / DD: River & Charlotte

This message was edited 4/28/2007, 9:41 AM

vote up1
River has been growing on me lately. It's one of the few naturey names that I like. All of your twin sets sound really good together, though Brooklyn sounds too feminine for me. My fave set is probably Charlotte and Anne Marie (very nice separated and without a hyphen).
vote up1
I like Charlotte & Anne Marie
vote up1
I love River, Brooklyn, Shiloh (more on a girl thanks to Angelina!!)and Charlotte.
vote up1
I love Charlotte and Anne-Marie as a sibset, both names are lovely and sound very classy together :)
vote up1
I like the boys :) Good that Shiloh isn't on a girl!

DS / DD: Susannah Laura "Sanna" / Lucian Henry "Luke"Sorry for coming up with the same names each time, I like to pretend I'd be exciting, but I really wouldn't, lol. Each combo honours someone close to me.

Lucian Dominic and Lucian Henry are both very handsome.
I think Lucian Henri would also be very nice.
vote up1
I like:Daniel Henry
Susannah Laura
Teresa Charlotte (this spelling)
vote up1

vote up1
Ooooh.... I LOVE Lucian. I wish that my DH would agree with me on that one, but alas he says it sounds too demonic. I prefer Lucian Henry over Lucian Dominic. I also wanted to say that Theresa Charlotte and Susannah Laura are beautiful. I like their nn's as well.
vote up1
I love Luke, and can like Lucian for its sake. :) Daniel Henry is terribly handsome. Susannah and Charlotte are lovely as well, and Laura and Theresa are nice, if not personal faves.

DS / DS: Vincent Noel / Evander Grey
DD / DD: June Susanna / Evelyn Andromeda
DS / DD: Vincent Noel / June Susanna(I very nearly settled on June Augusta, but then I realized.. yeah, not a good combo LOL)
vote up1
I really like Evander Grey.
vote up1
Nice to see someone using Andromeda
vote up1
I really like all of them. I especially like Evander Grey.I had to puzzle for a moment over why June Augusta was bad, it seemed great for a minute.
vote up1
I love all of these names. Evelyn is so pretty and I'm glad to see it making a comeback. I am also glad to see June on a couple people's lists. The name is so beautiful and underused.
vote up1
Evelyn is lovely and so classy. June Susanna is pretty, and I like it much better than June Augusta, though I really like Susannah June.
vote up1
Evelyn Andromeda is a fantastic combo! I say Eev-lin though, not Ev-uh-lin. I also love Susanna, but not so keen on June because it's a very middle-aged name where I live.Noel and Evander are good, but I don't like Vincent (reminds me of the song) or Grey (boring colour). What's the picture in your sig of btw? The coat makes me think of Dr Who, but I could just be imagining it...
vote up1
I like Evander Grey, Although I'd prefer Evander Gray, to repeat the A looks better to me. I also like Evelyn Andromeda, I like June as well.
vote up1
Lol, I didn't even notice a problem with June Augusta at first! I do really like June Susanna though. Vincent Noel is very handsome as well.
vote up1
Evelyn is so pretty.
vote up1
I really like Noelle, Winter, and Constantine.
vote up1
I love your DS/DD set...(m)Boaz Marino Constantine is utterly handsome (and actually makes me like Boaz, which I never liked before.)Junia Catharina Elodie flows brilliantly and seems very lyrical (which is definitely a good thing.)
vote up1
Your names are so refreshing. I really like Sabela Elodie Noelle and Junia Catharina Winter. Boaz was a new one for me. I like it.
vote up1
Elodie is so sweet and dancing. Noelle is pretty as a mn. Constanine is the only name I really like out of your first twin set (Ocean's not bad), but Thor Marino Constantine has a great flow. Catharina is quite pretty, and a nice twist.
vote up1
I really like Elodie.
vote up1
I love the girls names, especially Sabela and Noelle :)The boys names I don't like so much, but I tend to be more conservative with those anyway. Constantine is great though!
vote up1
Lovely flowing names. Nice to see Constantine
vote up1
Junia Catharina Winter is gorgeous.
vote up1
vote up1
I really like Isadora June.
vote up1
I really like Oliver Henry.
vote up1
All are great! Both the Atticus combos are great. I prefer Margot, even though it looks like Maggot, but it sounds so pretty any way you go about it.
vote up1
Ooh, I'm loving Atticus Jude. And June is so lovely as a mn.
vote up1
Love Isadora June and Harriet Margo!
vote up1
I like all of them :)
vote up1
I love Oliver and Jude. June is pretty mn.
vote up1
I like Harriet Margo but would prefer Margot Harriet.Henry and Jude are great, but not so much Atticus and Oliver. Atticus makes me think of attics, and Oliver is far too popular. All the combos flow nicely, even if the names are nms :)
vote up1
Isadora June flows wonderfully, I like Atticus Jude as well. I'd make the DS/DD one like this:
Isadora June and Atticus Jude (a bit twinny, but classy as well)
vote up1
I love Isadora June!

I like Oliver Henry & Atticus Henry.

vote up1
Ooh, Lotte :) I like it very much, but most as a nn for Charlotte. I also like Sophie, pity it's so popular :(Celia has leapt up my list in the past couple of months, and Eloise is pretty. I love the name Adelle.Henry Nathaniel is a great combo, but I would prefer Jack Connor as Connor Jack, easier to say.
vote up1
Very classy names, the work well together, and I love Henry Nathaniel & Celia Eloise esp.

Celia Persephone is lovely, the names flow well and are very well-matched :)I also love Henry, Dominic and Margot. I'm having a hard time liking Cole because I've only ever heard it as a surname though : /

Love the girls' names, and Henry Oliver is classic.

I love Andrew, Grant and Zoe.
vote up1
Lila Ruth is adorable and Zoe Bridget is very nice.
vote up1
I like Quinn, though prefer it as a girl's mn. Andrew and Daniel are classic. Spencer is a new fave, but I'm not sure if I like this spelling. Bridget is pretty, but Lilian Ruth is absolutely gorgeous!!! I suppose I'm a bit partial to it, though, as it's my beautiful niece's name (with a double L). :)
vote up1
I like Quinn, Lila Ruth and Zoe Bridget.
vote up1
I like Quinn and Grant, and Lila and Quinn as twins. I'd spell Spenser like Spencer though. Jesse Lillian and Zoe are nice names as well.

I think Rowan and Spencer are nice as twins, Music as a MN is very daring and I like it as well :)
vote up1
I love Colette Antonia Marie, very cool. Zelda, Leopold, and Spencer also rock my socks.
vote up1
Cyrus Taylor Leopold is awesome! Taylor is not something I'd usually go for, but since it's after someone and sounds good with the combo, I really like it. :D Colette Antonia Marie is gorgeous as well -- my best friend's name is Antonia Marie.
vote up1
You know how I feel about Colette Antonia Marie (absolutely gorgeous!). It's so sweet that you use "Music" as a mn. Would you consider using "Lyric" or "Cadence" to honour your hobby/talent?

If I go with the usual suspects:DS / DS: Morpheus Ray, Edmond Clair (Morph and Eddy)
DD / DD: Evening Rae, Katharine Stargazer (Evey Rae and Kitty)
DS / DD: Morpheus Ray, Evening Veronica (Morph and EveyA bit more saintly:DS / DS: Morpheus Benedict, Edmond Aquinas (Morph and Eddy)
DD / DD: Evening Philomena, Katharine Scholastica (Evey and Kitty)
DS / DD: Morpheus Benedict, Evening Scholastica (Morph and Evey)Even more saintly than that:DS / DS: Edmond Jerome, Nathaniel Aquinas (Eddy and Nat)
DD / DD: Eve Perpetua, Valerie Apphia (Evey and Vally)
DS / DD: Nathaniel Joachim, Katharine Clare (Nat and Kitty)With some other names that have been on my mind lately:DS / DS: Simon Zacchaeus, Gregor Cornelius
DD / DD: Claudette Hanorah, Scarlet Carson Edith (Cloudy and Essie)
DS / DD: Ptolemy James, Ruxandra Mary (Ptolly and Ruxi)Array

Nice saints' namesI adore Eve Perpetua and Katherine Scholastica. There's something very cool about Morpheus Benedict as well.
vote up1
I'm still loving Scholastica and Ptolemy.
vote up1
I so love your combos Array.Out of the first set, the only thing I myself would change is to pair Morpheus Ray with Katharine Stargazer. Just personal preference. You're getting me addicted to the possibility of using Clair on a boy.Morpheus Benedict and Edmond Aquinas are so perfect together. I'm not crazy about Scholastica, but it definitely fits with the other names. The third set, I don't really like Jerome or Apphia. But Nathaniel Aquinas, Nathaniel Joachim, and Katherine Clare are so cool.Your fourth set is perfect. You have a way of making me like names that before, I would either never have seen or never have been able to think of great combos.
vote up1
Just seeing Edmond Clair makes Edmond jump several notches in my estimation. Very handsome. Rae is a sweet mn and Katharine is lovely, especially with Scholastica. James is classic and Cornelius and Zacchaeus are great.
My favorite single name that you have up there is Nathaniel Aquinas, but my favorite twin set is Nathaniel Joachim and Katharine Clare. Nathaniel and Katharine just fit perfectly together, in my opinion.
vote up1
I love Scholastica and Aquinas and Perpetua and Clare and Edmond Clair and I love love love Simon Zacchaeus as a combo. I've never thought of Evening as a name, I've always thought about Eve and Genivieve etc. that would turn inti Evie, but it's an interesting idea. Evening Veronica flows well. Ruxandra seems kind of rough imo.
vote up1
Evening Rae is beautiful, as is Evey Rae. Similarly, I think that Evening Fae would be beautiful, too.
vote up1
I like your third set the best. But they'd be a little 'tame' for you, I think. ;)
vote up1
Wow, that's a lot of names :p I'll just comment on my favourites.Evening Rae - I've become very used to this as your daughter now, I hope you use it eventually! I love the nn Evey.Edmond Aquinas - I love Edmond and Aquinas has a good sound and namesake.Nathaniel Aquinas - I love Nathaniel nn Nat.Katharine Clare - Love nn Kitty and Clare is wonderful ;)Simon Zacchaeus - I always said za-KAY-us, and it's proving a bit hard to change, but this combo looks fabulous. I really like Simon. If I had to choose from yours, I 'd go with...DS / DS: Nathaniel Joachim / Edmond Aquinas
DD / DD: Evening Rae / Katharine Clare
DS / DD: Nathaniel Aquinas / Evening Rae
vote up1
I'd love to see Morpheus Ray and Evening Veronica IRL, they're great together (and by themselves as well). I like Benedict, Joachim, Scholastica, Aquinas, James as MNs.
I also like Eve, Scarlet, Ptolemy as FNs (Ptolemy and Morpheus have totally grown on me because of you!)
vote up1
Edmond Clair is sooo handsome, as is Edmond Aquinas. I'm also lovin' Nathaniel Joachim, Claudette, Katharine, Benedict, and Evening Veronica.
vote up1
I'm so in love with Evening Rae.
vote up1
Theodore Elliott very nice though I usually don't like Theodore.
vote up1
These are great...I like every single name you have up there. They all have history, but they're not a bit common. Prudence has been a bit of a gp for me, but it's doable with Lydia.
Theodore Elliot and Chava Louise are perfect together.
vote up1
Chava Louise is nice if I remember to say it right, but unfortunately I see "chav" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chav if you didn't know) and say it like that :(Lydia Prudence has a nice flow, and I adore Lydia. I'd prefer Constance to Prudence though, wdyt?I like the boys too, especially Isaiah Timothy.

mine would be DS / DS: Micah Jackson and Elijah Ryan
DD / DD: Oliva Rayna and Sabrina Marie
DS / DD: Eliza and Axel no mn?
vote up1
I like Elijah Ryan and Sabrina Marie
vote up1
I love Micah Jackson. Axel is growing on me.
vote up1
Micah and Elijah are both personal faves. Unfortunately, Micah Jackson sounds a little too close to Michael Jackson for me to like it. :( Oliva Rayna is pretty enough, but I would really like Olivia Raina.
vote up1
Those are very cool names. Eliza and Axel is an awesome twin set.
Micah Jackson is Michael Jackson in my mind, though, and the connotations for Sabrina are a bit strong.
vote up1
If Oliva is not a typo for Olivia, then I really like it. I am personally in love with Olive, myself. Micah Jackson = Michael Jackson? Too close for me.
vote up1
I love Micah
vote up1
I like Sabrina Marie, even if Marie is very common as a mn. Elijah Ryan is nice enough, and Eliza is much better than Elizabeth.Axel makes me think of cars unfortunately.
vote up1
Micah and Elijah are great names for twins!
vote up1
I adore Sabrina!Micah Jackson is dangerously close to "Michael Jackson" so please no. I really like Oliva (Olivia?) & Sabrina as a twinset.
vote up1
I love Micah, Jackson, and Sabrina. :)

vote up1
I like Ellen, Astrid, Alec, and Georgia. Ellen and Alec is great.
vote up1
I love Astrid & Georgia
vote up1
I love all three girls names :)Alec and Christian I want to like, but the former makes me think of "smart alec" and Christian is more a religion than a name to me.
vote up1
I love Astrid and Georgia! Ellen is nice, too.
vote up1
I really like Alec and Christian as brothers, and I love Georgia. :)
vote up1
aww Alec and Cael would make lovely twins, as it's not very obvious at all! I love all your names, Ellen is lovely.

I don't normally like any Rose-_____ names, but Elisabeth Rosemary is terribly sweet. I love it.
vote up1
Alexandra Beatrice is lovely. Philip Gregory and Alexander are also great.
vote up1
Wow I love all of those.
vote up1
I love Philip, Beatrice & Rosemary
vote up1
Alexandra Beatrice sounds very regal :)David Alexander is nice, if predictable, and I also like Philip. Elisabeth is very common in my area, so Elisabeth Rosemary isn't as interesting as Rosemary Elisabeth would be.
vote up1
Very classy, the names work so well together. I esp. like Philip Gregory.
vote up1
Do I ever not love your combos? Very nice. :)
vote up1
Lovin' David Alexander and Elisabeth Rosemary!

Greta Annabelle is lovely
vote up1
Agree, I love it.
vote up1
You melted my heart Isla & blaaarg!
vote up1
I love the name Greta :) Usually I'd say as a nn for Margareta, but with Annabelle that might be a little too much! I prefer the spelling Annabel to Annabelle because I dislike -belle names in general.
vote up1
I really like the sound of Nicholas Troy. Greta Annabelle is also darling. Great choices! :)
vote up1
Aww thank you. Both honour special people in my life.

DS / DS:
Chet Liam - very short and snappy.
Nicholas Troy - love!DD / DD:
Greta Annabelle - very cute, yet sophisticated.
Serena Faith - dittoDS / DD:
Chet Liam
Greta Annabelle - I think Greta Annabelle is a bit long compared to Chet Liam, but Greta and Chet would make nice siblings :)

Caspian David is superb.
vote up1
Caspian David and Evadne Patricia are lovely. I like the way you've used more unusual fns and paired them up with traditional, classy mns.
vote up1
*Sigh* Caspian. I love it. It goes quite well with David. Nathaniel Thomas is fantastic. Evadne and Celia are pretty.
vote up1
I like both Caspian and Nathaniel. Both are very classy sounding.
vote up1
Love Caspian and Celia. I agree with Porcelain saying that Nathaniel Thomas is classic. I prefer the spelling Nathanael, though.
vote up1
I love Caspian, Evadne, and Celia Muriel.
vote up1
I love Caspian David and Nathaniel Thomas as brothers; fabulous! Both very handsome combos and great together too. Would you use the full names or nicknames?I like Celia Muriel, the timelessness of Celia offsets the slightly dated feel of Muriel imo.Evadne Patricia is the only one I don't like at all, neither name appeals to me.

Nathaniel Thomas and Caspian David would be great as brothers! Of course, they're handsome individually as well. ;) David has been on my mind a lot lately, actually. I also really like Celia and Patricia.
vote up1
Thank you :) David and Thomas are my grandfathers names, and Muriel and Patricia are my grandmothers. Of course, if I ever get married and have children (wayyyyyy into the future) then I might not be able to use them because he may want to take his family into account to.

vote up1
I really love Jasper Lewis and Alice Katarina as combos.I prefer Leo to Augustin so I like Leo Augustin better than the other way round.Daphne is lovely and Julia is nice enough, but I don't like Iris, Emerald, Burton or Gabriel at all, sorry.
