I rather like it. I think it's unusually feminine for a name ending in -on ... it's one of those "strong," dignified names.I noticed BtN lists it as unisex. I have never seen an English speaking guy with first name Sharon, though. It'd be like a 'boy named Sue,' where I live.I'm partial to the name Sherry, which I think can be short for Sharon. I don't think I'd spell it any other way, but Cheryn or Cheron as a combination of Cheryl and Sharon isn't totally unappealing to me. Sharon is dated, but it does not sound hopelessly out of fashion to me.
