I hate nicknames as full names. They're cutesy and childish and won't suit someone over five. Can you imagine a Doctor Emmy or Judge Frankie?
Even if you never, ever use the full name, it's better to put it on the birth certificate in case the kid wants to have a serious sounding name when he grows up.
