I like it, especially with Topsy as a nickname. It reminds me of Topaz Mortmain of I Capture the Castle, who is an awesome (if eccentric) character. Plus, it's my mum's birthstone, so I think of it as "for her" in a way, too.
Topaz is really nice, and I'd take it over most 'classic' names any day. ;)

Topaz Mortmain is one of the main reasons I like it. :) Even though it's not my normal style, the fact that it's from a book I like kind of legitimizes it for me.
