[Opinions] Re: Elida
in reply to a message by (Is-rah-el) Israelle
This is what I found online....
The name Elida has multiple origins and meanings, including:
Scandinavian
The name Elida may have originated in Scandinavia and comes from the Old Norse words eile (fast or quick) and ds (goddess or spirit). The name means "fast sailing ship".
Ancient Greek
The name Elida may come from the Ancient Greek word Ēlis, which means "low land". This region is in western Peloponnese, where the Olympic Games are said to have originated.
Greek sun god
The name Elida may come from Helios, the Greek sun god, or Heliodoros, which means "gift of Helios".
German title
The name Elida may be connected to the German title Adelaide, which is linked to the meaning "nobility".
I think it's very pretty.

I also originally thought it might be a contracted form of Elida!
But I didn't find much information backing up this theory unfortunately although I really like it
