I discovered it on my vacation to Austria through a vintage advertisement.
I am so glad I discovered this name because it's one of my favorite names right now

Heard it a couple of times before. I'm Swedish and to me it's elderly (and somewhat rare). There's also Alida.
It makes me think of the verb "elide." I don't care for it.

I like that it is a literary name(in the form Ellida) but I prefer Alida.
Ellida is also great but I prefer Elida for some reason although I prefer names with doubles L's typically
It's the name of one of my (Mexican) aunts, so it feels rather old to me. It does have a pretty sound I suppose, but I can't see it working in English.

I think it would be really pretty if the emphasis is put on the first syllable: ELL-ih-dah.

Don't really like it
Not fond of it at all. Elida - one who elides? And how many people will assume that her name must 'really' be Eliza? Not worth the effort.
Hm, I was imagining it's pronounced like eh-LEE-da, not like ee-LIE-da. (anyone know which it is?)
