The other day while at the ice cream shop, a pair of grandparents with their little granddaughter were ahead of me in line. She was maybe about 5 years old. Her name was Veda (not sure of spelling, but the pronunciation was "VAY-dah", they said it several times.) I thought it was really interesting and unique, very unexpected. I liked it a lot hearing it in real life, although normally I think a name like Veda wouldn't hold my interest.
