[Opinions] Dorothy
Any love for Dorothy? This used to be a popular name way back when, but nobody seems to like it anymore. How do you feel?

I love this name, and always have; ever since I first heard it on Elmo’s World (as a toddler). The Wizard of Oz association is also homely for me, so that’s how I feel about Dorothy; Dorothy is warm and homely. I think that it should get more recognition in recent times, and doesn’t deserve to fade away. At least for me, the way Dorothy flows off the tongue leaves me smiling.
I like it a lot. The youngest one I know is in her 40s, which seems a pity. On a remote branch of my family tree, a distant cousin married a Dorothy whom photos show as a very attractive redhead. And I was at school with a Dorothy and a Dorothea, neither of whom seemed to have nns at all, though we were in different years so I can't be sure. I'm not sure which I prefer, either.
I love Dorothy. I would love to use it in a historical novel set in the 14th century when it was uncommon but not unheard of as the saints day was February 6th.
I love it
Don't feel the love for this
I don't really like it, although I like the nickname Dottie/Dot. Dorothy just reminds me of The Wizard of Oz.
I love Dorothy!
It's such a lovely name.

It's okay, but I wouldn't really say I liked it, I generally don't much like the th sound in names. But it does seem to be coming back a little bit, and compared to other old-lady names coming back, like Edith, Hattie, Ruth and Eleanor, it's not bad.
Dorothy is surprisingly popular: It just ranked #487. I love it and expect it to rise in popularity (alongside Edith, Florence, and the like).
Is it? Well, that's good to hear. :)
