These are Turkish names said to mean "dried leaves, fallen leaves" (
Hazal) and "autumn" (
Hazan) in Turkish.
But I would like to know where the meaning actually comes from because I can't find these meanings in the dictionary.
hazal - can't find a meaning in Turkish.
haz al - "haz" means "pleasure, delight" and "al" can mean "to get" but also "scarlet". Is that maybe where a poetic meaning comes from? "get pleasure" or "scarlet pleasure" in the sense of scarlet etc. autumn leaves? But I can't find a reputable source, just wikipedia.
hazal - in Persian this means "hazel" and throughout the internet you often find "dried leaves, fallen leaves, autumn flower". The hazel sort of is an autumn flower, I guess? Is it possible that this just means "hazel"?
hazal - from a word for "gazelle" or "deer" from Kurdish xezal or Persian ğazâl.
Does anyone know more?
With
Hazan I just have no idea but there is not dictionary entry for it meaning "autumn" in Turkish.
But "haz an" means "moment of pleasure" in Turkish.
But I can't find a dictionary entry for "autumn".
