[Opinions] Re: Great-Grandparents
in reply to a message by SPNFamily
Paternal Grandparents: Richard Frank (always went by "Rich") & Gail Patricia
Paternal Great-Grandparents: Victor Francis (or maybe it was Victor Frank) & Rose Marie, and Richard Thomas (always went by "Dick") & Theresa (no middle)
Maternal Grandparents: Donald Charles & Wynona Rose (siblings called her "Rose" growing up, and in adulthood she acquired the nickname "Dodie" somehow)
Maternal Great-Grandparents: Isaac Franklin & Ida Virginia, and Silvestro "Sylvester" (no middle) & Ethel Clara
Of these people, only my grandmothers are still alive. Dodie is in fact 99 years old, and only the second youngest of her seven siblings (she was the second oldest) is still alive. My maternal great-grandparents were all gone before I was born, and unfortunately I never knew Donald very well (I believe he went by Don). On the other side of my family, however, Victor was the only one I didn't know (he died when my dad was a kid)! Great-grandpa died when I was four, but I have fond memories of him still, and I was close to both great-grandmothers. Grandpa died in 2019 and I still catch myself missing him.
