Cesare and Marie-Hélène have settled into their lives together quite comfortably. Though the pair offered to move out, since they are living in the ancestral Elliston estate, Nate wouldn't hear of it. The Lord wants his step-Father and his wife to be comfortable, and moving out at their age would be ridiculous, not to mention he wants to be around his young half-brother, since he's the only link left to Hattie.
Despite the fact that Antoine repeatedly expressed how much he loved her, shortly after she gave birth to their newest daughter, Léontine, he packed his bags and moved into a house he had bought for his Mistress. And not only was this Beth a complete shock to Marcella, but it turned out that he also had three children with her! Their youngest being about the same age as Cécile shook her immensely, and sent her into a depressive spiral she is only recently beginning to recover from.
Thankfully, since Lucrezia and Oscar are still having severe relationship problems, she and Robert were able to move in to help out her older sister. And though Robert misses seeing Andrew and Joshua every day, he supposes Lucien & Julien are alright too.
While Nate was taking Josh to visit Lily's grandparents, he was unexpectedly struck by Cupid's arrow when he met their gardener's daughter, Miri Horowitz. And despite swearing off love only a few years prior, he couldn't help but get to know her, and fortunately she found him incredibly charming, if rather awkward. So, despite her parents disapproval, the pair eloped at the end of the summer, and moved back to England to start their life together. After their first son, Benji, was born, Nate began going to the synagogue with his wife on Saturdays, and was seriously considering converting, which he started when Miri announced her second pregnancy with Mal.
Josh isn't sure about his new brothers yet, since they're still a bit too small to play with, but he likes Miri well enough, and he does enjoy the friends he's made at the 'new church'.
Aurelia accompanied Nate on his trip to America, half to help with Josh, and half to see the country for herself, and met her now-husband Bidziil while out for a ride. The pair quickly hit it off as they talked about horses, to various other animals, to their personal interests, the conversation flowing so smoothly that it surprised the both of them when the Rosewood stablemaster interrupted them hours later. So, the two made plans to meet in town next week, and then again the week after that, and to no one's surprise, Aurelia decided to stay in America at the end of the summer. Though the pair had a longer courtship than Nate and Miri, they made the most of every moment together, and were eventually married in a traditional Navajo ceremony. Not quite a year later, they welcomed Nizhóní into the world, and though Aurelia misses her Father and sisters, and Nate, they write often enough to appease her, at least for now.
Alice and Jean-Baptiste are still unwed, but strangely this doesn't seem to bother either of them, both just shrugging and saying they'll 'know when it's time'. For now, they have semi-regular outings, just enough to discourage other suitors, and often can be found talking about books.
Andrew doesn't often feel lonely in the estate, with plenty of nieces and nephews around. But he hadn't realized how much he liked being around kids the same age as him until he enrolled in a small private school nearby. He's slowly starting to boss the younger kids around, having been almost unaware that he could have been doing that before, but the kids all gang up on him when he starts getting too annoying for their liking.
