[Opinions] Re: I’m bored so...

1. If you had twins today (Whatever gender you want), what would you name them?
Boys: Carter Nathaniel and Connor Montgomery
Girls: Audrey Vivienne and Alexis Victoria
Boy/girl: Archer Hudson and Audrey Grace
2. Would you ever give your first name as a child’s middle name?
Sure, that wouldn’t bother me. I’d prefer my middle name, to give to my daughter, but I wouldn’t mind my first.
3. If not, what about your middle name as your son/daughters middle name as well?
Whoops should have read ahead. Yes, I’d have liked to give my daughter my middle name as hers, but since I got to pick her given name, DH wanted to pick her other. And I didn’t want her to have three names, as one of her names is already fairly long.
4. You are forced to give your son a feminine name, and you daughter a masculine one. What are their names? (You can add a middle name)
Yuck. I hate these kinds of questions!
Maybe for a girl… Quinn. Quinn Eliana Grace. That way she can either go by Ellie or Gracie.
For a boy… Alexis. Alexis Nathaniel James. He will either go by Nate or James.
5. Do you prefer names with history to it or is it completely coincidental?
I don’t care about the history. Names that have cool meanings are a nice bonus, but I picked names I loved the sound of.
6. Does a name not being ‘genuine’ enough bother you?
Sort of. I have a niece that has a completely made up name and it really annoys me. It just seems… so cheesy and unintelligent, to purposely name a child a name that you think you made up. That’s rude and not a nice mindset at all.
7. How do you feel about accents with names? Would you ever use a name with one? (Ex: Chloë, Renée, Anaïs.)
They kind of annoy me, if you’re not French or whatever nationality the name is. American girls named mïchellè or etc just bug me!
8. What do you think of names with different spelling from the original?
I don’t like them. With the exception of a few!
9. Do you like nicknames for your child or even yourself? Or do you prefer the full name?
Oh, all my kids have nicknames. They just kind of stick!
10. Has the pandemic changed your taste in names?
Nope, not really.
11. You and your partner just chose the name for your child. You both love it and have no doubts in mind. Your entire family hates it. Do you still keep the name?
I didn’t really care whether any of my family or DH’s family liked my names. We didn’t tell them until the kids were born, (well, we didn’t decide 100% until they were born anyways) because I didn’t want to hear their opinions.
12. What is one name that’s popular you actually think deserves it’s time in the light? It can be one for a boy and one for a girl.
Ummm…. I don’t know. I really love Gregory… and also Vivienne.
13. What is one baby name tradition or trend that you don’t like? It can be anything.
The “add -ley or -leigh” to anything that automatically makes it succchhhhhh a cuuuuute name!!!! Ugh.
14. What (type) name automatically makes you (Or would make you?) lose respect for a parent?
I don’t like names with all kinds of extra letters and apostrophes and dashes in them. It doesn’t necessarily make me lose respect it’s just more kind of an eye roll feeling on my part.

I'm curious what your niece's "completely made up" name is. Would you feel comfortable sharing it?
I Pm’d you
