I am more likely to be reminded of LGBT associations than lavatories when I hear a person called Lavender, but lately, I haven't really been noticing that either. I feel like it's getting more common/namey sounding, like Sage did.

Lavender Sparrow could be a tropical bird ... I really don't think it works. And the lavatory connection is there, all right. I've always steered clear of Lavinia for the same reason. Do any of these appeal to you:

Lavender is a nice, unique name. However, when the surname is a word / noun, I would shy away from having a name that could also double as an adjective. Someone here commented that it sounds like you are saying the sparrow is lavender colored, and I agree. From your other names, my favorites are Katherine and Ivy.

I personally associate Lavender as a name, way too much with bathrooms. The word sound like lavatory, but also the color, the scent - all very Grandma's powder-room, to me. Also it just sounds kinda bland and dowdy. The Lav syllable is so flat and loud, and I don't like the "under" sound either. Just doesn't suit my taste.

Ivy Sparrow works, and is a more elegant seeming image to me, than Lavender S.
Eve Sparrow is pretty cool.
Emily Sparrow is also nice.

Lavender's one of my favourites, so I absolutely adore it. It isn't just soft, sweet and vintage; there's a hint of mischief and fun in there too (like the Matilda character). It's not too close to lavatory at all imo. With Sparrow it is quite wordy and descriptive too, but it's so charming! Sparrow's a really cool surname, but I can see how it can be frustrating with word names.

Lavender is a cool and beautiful name. It just makes me think a girl falling a sleep with Lavenders all around and a river near it.

Lavender Sparrow doesn’t sound...awful, but it could be better. I like Katherine Sparrow and Ivy Sparrow the best.

I don't think it's close to Lavender at all, but it sounds so frail.

I prefer Lavender rather than the names you listed. I think that they are overused and boring. Lavender is less common and interesting. Together with Sparrow it's a bit weird but better than a flavourless Emily Sparrow for example.

I personally prefer the form Lavanda.

I like it with Sparrow, maybe moreso than on its own. I have charged ambivalence about it, maybe like you. I certainly like it for someone else's kid, and I think Lavender Sparrow is a pretty cool image, if you don't mind the nature emphasis.

I don't like it at all, sounds like your describing the colour of the sparrow.

I love Lavender Sparrow, do you like Lilac or Lavinia as well? I also like the idea of Crystal Sparrow, Coral Sparrow or Amethyst Sparrow, something gem-stone or naturey in general.
