Hello,
I've got a Chinese character I need a name for, but I'm not native Chinese - i have a few, but was wondering what people thought, especially if they speak Chinese.
The character was raised in a shitty home, and just broke free with the help of 2 new friends. They decide to give them a new name - sorta new name, new start idea. So the names all have a similar meaning/vibe - the friends trying to tell them they belong, that the three of them are family now.
家 卫 - Jiāwèi- family's protection
如 家 - Rújia - like family (personal fav)
如 新 - Rúxīn - like new
Oddball name - 晓丹 - Xiǎodān - red dawn. One of the friends is from a fishing town, and it's a reference to the old rhyme.
Red skies at night, sailors delight; red skies at morning, sailors take warning. Essentially, it means beware of the coming storm. A friend suggested it, but I'd prefer a name with a softer, found-family meaning.
Please give opinons, suggestions, feedback, etc. :)
