I have an 18 year old female cousin named Chase. I never really understood what my aunt saw on it. I'm not a fan. I'm even less a fan of it on a boy. Then it takes on that tough Gunner / Hunter / Colt cowboy violence name thang that I hate.
That said, Chase in the middle, paired with a traditional name, isn't so bad.

That's funny, because I just said that Chase is NOT a cowboy name, to me. I didn't read the comments, before I posted. :P

That is definitely not a vibe I go for. I kind of hear in that little three year old voice now and it makes it hard to pick out real adult impressions.

I think you've nailed why I don't like Chase, it very much fits into Gunner/Hunter/Colt theme which I dislike.
