I was discussing names with my fiance again.
To recap, his favorite is
Adam (because it is nondescript and can be found in all three Abrahamic religions). The only other name he likes is
Azrael (not bland or boring in the least, but instead has "cool factor"). I thought
Nathaniel was one we both liked well enough, but further discussion reveals that we both dislike
Nathan. We'd push for
Nate /
Nat, but he would hate it if the hypothetical kid ended up going by
Nathan, whereas I would be able to deal.
So I was trying to come up with names that were not so boring (his girl choice is
Sarah and mine is
Cordelia) and have cool factor. He thinks my names will get boys picked on.
I mentioned
Zachariah /
Zechariah. He was actually okay with those. I'm not huge on
Zach though. It feels dated. Riah is too feminine for him. Ziah sounds like a short form for Messiah to both of us, but I think I could be okay with it. Him...not so much.
If you want to skip the recap and background info, start here.
Do you think
Zeke for
Zechariah is too much of a stretch?
Do you have any other ideas for nicknames?
What do you think of the names
Zachariah and
Zechariah?
What kind of people would you picture using one of those names?
Could either work with
Cordelia?
Any suggestions for other names that might work for both of us?
