[Facts] Re: NEEDED TO BE AMENDED
in reply to a message by BARAN
This name is in the "user-submitted" list of names. It was added by one of this site's visitors. Perhaps one of the editors reading this will look into what you have written and (possibly) emend the entry?
If you would like to be more proactive you can make another submission with the information you believe is correct. One of the editors will eventually merge the two submissions together.

It is not that simple. Baran is listed in the name book of the Türk Dil Kurumu (Turkish language association), search for Baran on this web page: http://www.tdk.org.tr/index.php?option=com_kisiadlari&view=kisiadlari
They even claim a Turkish origin for that name: Köken: T. and confirm masculine usage: The colour is blue and Cinsiyet: (Erkek). They would never admit a Kurdish origin but usually they tell you the name is "Farsi" instead.
From this I conclude, that the usage "Turkish" is correct as far as I can see.
It also has Kurdish usage, as can be seen by consulting e.g. this website http://www.kurdname.webs.com/kurdishnames.htm
Conclusion: I will add Kurdish usage, but keep the Turkish usage.
