[Facts] Origin of Eban
In 2003 this same subject arose. Eban is most likely to be a shortened form of Ebenezer, a Hebrew name. In my research I have found that Eban's have resided in Lithuania, Scotland, England, America and Israel of course. It is possible that the earliest use of the shortened name was from Lithuania.
I am a descendant of Emmanuel Ben Ahar Ashley Eban (whom emigrated to New Zealand in 1845)and I desperately need to contact anyone of the same ancestry. I notice that Stuart Eban has posted before and I would be very interested in making contact.Carolyn Wood
