Sounds nice, looks intersting – but what is it? A blend of MALIA and PATRICIA? Or else an elaboration of MELISSA?

I'm not positive, but it could be a combination of Melissa and Alisha. It would be pronounced more closely to Muh-lee-shuh than Militia.

I have a hard time seeing anything but "malicious" in this name. (English "malice" comes from Latin malitia.) 8-O

Hopefully, it is from another language source, with a positive meaning.
But, if an unfortunate pronunciation, she will sound like a villainess from James Bond or "Sleeping Beauty," when she says, "Hi, I'm Malisha," to a bunch of Anglophones.
PS: I've heard that Pussy is a common [nick?]name in Europe, but it would still raise some eyebrows here. So would Fanny, in Australia (I'm told).

She pronounces her name [meh-lee-sha] with the stress on the second syllable (short e), I was told.
