Babette is a name for somebody's little white poodle with bows in her hair and painted toenails, the kind that gets carried everywhere in a shoulder bag with rhinestones.
Babs is horrible anyway, like big fat jowly cheeks.

Wrong place, sorry. This should be a response to the OP.
I didn't think I would ever like the name Babette until I saw a movie set in WWII France. One of the characters was named Babette and I was smitten. I don't know how well it would translate into the modern world, but I'm all for names being revived. And the nn Betsy is to die for cute. Clever you. :-)
Oh, and if you haven't read or seen "Babette's Feast" you're in for a treat.
