I've started to like
Adriana recently. Probably because I've liked
Ariadne for a while, and
Adriana seems like a more familiar and accessible alternative. What is your opinion on it? I think it seems very regal and sophisticated.
Does it make you think of the model
Adriana Lima? I don't consider her a bad association, but I'd rather not choose a name that's heavily anchored to a celebrity. Please bear in mind that here in the
UK it's rather uncommon.
How would you pronounce it? The common English way is ayd-ree-AN-a, but I'm also quite partial the more continental ad-ree-AN-a. To me it sounds more sexy and is somewhat less reminiscent of the
Aidan bandwagon. Which do you prefer? Do you think pronouncing it ad-ree-AN-a could work in an English-speaking country or is ayd-ree-AN-a too firmly rooted?
