[Opinions] Indigo
So, I have been majorly crushing on Indigo lately. I normally don't like color names, though I do like some nature names. This one almost feels like it fits in both categories. If you were to use Indigo, would you use it as a FN or a MN? Do you have any combo ideas for it? Thanks in advance!

I'm not fond of Indigo as a name (though it's a restaurant near where I live: Cynthia's Indigo Moon, would you believe?).But, here's a good item for your travelling garden: look up Indigofera on Wikipedia, and rejoice! Such pretty plants, and some of them are growable in gardens too.

I'd use it as a first name for a girl.My sister actually went to school with an Indigo Blu. A girl.

My crush on Indigo started a few months ago, and I'm still in love with it. I would use it as either a first or middle, on a boy. It would be a really unexpected middle, and I like it as a first name with the nickname Indie.

I also really like this name a lot. I think it could work equally as well for a fn or mn. I only like the name for a girl though.

I quite like Indigo. It's got a fun sound to it and an image of royalness at the same time.
My combo for it from my combo list is
Indigo Eina 栄名 Mitsue 満恵
kanji: Eina (prn. ayna) glory-name Mitsue (prn. meetsooay) fill/full-grace/beauty/blessingDo you prefer it for a girl or boy? (this is a girl's combo) Would you like some more potential names to combine it with?

I like it for either, really, but generally prefer it for a girl. You can provide some combos if you want, as I am not that familiar with Japanese names, and these seem new and fresh (to me, anyway). :)

Ok... Well, my Jpns. names and western names are kinda mixed in my lists right now, so you can go through and see what you like... Some will go w/ Indigo and some won't, but it'll give you something to play around w/ and perhaps you'll find some new names that catch your fancy. I'm putting a Jpns. prn. guide at the bottom of this post so you'll know how to prn. the Jpns. names. I do have some obscure names from some other languages in here as well.Amaryllis

Funny, when I first joined here like over 4 years ago now, Indigo was way cool. Everyone was talking about Indigo for a boy, and I didn't get it and thought it seemed girly because it was a color. I've come a long way with names since then, and think it's perfectly masculine, and its similarity to Inigo helps a lot, too.Indigo (the color) makes me think of a warm night in an exotic place. It's very adventurous, and the Inigo [Montoya :P] association helps that too. So I'd pair it with other globe-trotting, adventurous things, like Indigo D'Artagnan, Indigo Porfirio, Indigo Quatermaine, or Indigo Sacheverell. Yeah.

Isn't it funny how just learning about names can completely change our view of them? I think it would work really well on a boy, too. I like your combos, especially Indigo D'Artagnan. My cousin, Kaitlyn, attends middle school with a boy named D'Artagnan-all his friends call him Dart, though.

Oh, another D'Artagnan! I'll have to tell my friend that! I have a friend with a 4 year old son named D'Artagnan, and they call him D'Art sometimes too. Or Tagnan. His brothers have equally epic names.

I like it! I think it would be cool as a fn.
Would you use it on a boy or a girl? I'd only use it on a boy, but the entry in the database lists "feminine" first.

I think it works equally well on both sexes, though I would probably use it on a boy first.

I can certainly see the appeal but I'm not sure if I'd ever use it. Maybe we'll call it a guilty pleasure. Indi would be a cute nn.
