I like Melora! I also like Meliora and Medora (sort of similar names).
I don't think it sounds like Melanie + Laura. If it was Melaura I would think it had something to do with Laura, but as Melora it just looks like a name in itself. It reminds me most of Meliora.
I wonder if it's a popular stage name, and that's why you only see it in the credits?
