[Opinions] Aisling

Like Billina, I also see "ass sling" when I look at this name. Visually, it's just...not pretty, and I can't say I'm crazy about the "ling" sound at the end, either. I prefer Aisling over Aislin since it makes the pronunciation clearer.
I'm not usually an advocate for invented names, but I find ASH-lin far more attractive than ASH-ling, and I'd take Ashlyn over Aisling or Aislin any day.

Every time I see this name in print, I think it's "ass sling." Not a good thing.
Also, when it's pronounced ASH-ling, it makes me think of little, baby Ashleys, or something. There is too much stacked against it for me to like it.
It's currently ranked #42 in Ireland, so it's popular but not too popular.

Aisling, Aislin and Aislinn should all be pronounce as ASH-ling.

Aislin/Aislinn pronounced as ASH-lin, is an Americanization, in much the same way Caitlin being pronounce KATE-lin (instead of KOIT-leen) is.
