Of the
Royal House of Kensington, of the kingdom of Orantillo
Upon hearing that his wife was pregnant with another man's child, and learning that she was in love with the father -- and wanted to divorce
Cal --
Cal refused to grant
Sophie an uncontested divorce.
Valli, though she cannot condone
Sophie's behavior, spoke to
Callum about the matter. Should he refuse the divorce, and fight for custody of
Philip, he would be stripped of his title and forced back to manual labor to make a living. Should he agree to the terms, he would remain Count Raityn.
Callum agreed to the divorce.
Sophie wanted to marry
Graham before the birth of their child. So, though she was in her eighth month of pregnancy,
Sophie went through with her marriage to
Graham. After the baby was born,
Graham took a leave of absence at the university to help his wife raise their daughter, whom they affectionately refer to as "
Lia." Her older brother,
Philip has since taken to
Graham, smiling at him as though
Graham's his true father. And for all intents and purposes,
Graham is.
Callum decided to go on "permanent holiday" to Kremer, the second largest city in Orantillo.
Magdalena met
Jasper at
Sophie's wedding to
Graham.
Jasper is a student of astronomy at the University, whom
Graham employed as a sort of research assistant in his department. A few months after meeting
Magdalena,
Jasper brought her to the observatory to see the stars, and asked her to marry him, saying that he wanted to propose that brought the two great loves of his life together. They married a few months later.
Following her sister,
Magdalena's, advice,
Siobhan decided to finally open her heart to love during a vacation to the island of Landras. Her parents allowed her to go to Landras with security detail as a way of de-stressing after a hectic few months (what with the number of weddings and births).
Ian owned the small cottage
Siobhan was staying in -- it was bequeathed to him by his grandmother, and he chose to rent it out. He acted as a sort of handyman during the month that
Siobhan was staying there. Finally, when it was time for her to leave, he made a move and kissed her. He wrote to "
Annie" daily for three months before "making the big gesture" and moving to Orantillo.
Annie proposed to
Ian two weeks later, the night her brother's daughter was born.
Tristan loved to fool around with the maids of the palace, paying particular interest to
Daisy -- a chambermaid to
Estella. He would sneak out at all hours of the night with various maids before telling him that it was a fun time, but he really needed to focus on helping his family run the kingdom. And most maids understood.
Daisy, though, was a challenge and refused to sleep with the prince.
Tristan spent weeks trying to seduce her, until he realized that he was in love with her. During an argument where in the stable master slapped
Daisy for refusing him, the prince stepped in and challenged the stable master to a duel. Fearing the consequences of fighting with a prince, the stable master backed down.
Daisy then agreed to date
Tristan. They consummated their relationship on the night of
Magdalena's wedding, after which
Daisy found that she was pregnant. Frightened that
Tristan -- or worse, his parents -- would punish her,
Daisy ran off to
Kala, the village outside of the capital where she grew up (Evendias).
Tristan figured out that she would go back to her family, followed her, and explained that he would never dream of hurting her, that he loved her, and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and their children.
Valli and
Nick were a little peeved at first, but are willing to welcome
Daisy into their home as his fiancee. But
Tristan wanted to make sure that his child would never feel unwanted, so they married a week later.
Casimir is starting to act a lot like his older brother, so
Tristan has been warning him about the ramifications -- i.e., impregnating someone he does not have feelings for -- despite the fact that his story has a truly happy ending (for luckily, he's having a child with someone he cares for a great deal).
Casimir, though, does not seem willing to change his ways. Hence,
Valli and
Nick sent him to Kremer to the military academy, where his brother-in-law,
Byron teaches flight training while he raises
Georgie with
Estella.
Casimir has expressed interest in joining the Navy, rather than the Army or Air Force. But he is eleven, so his classes are purely academic -- the school is simply more disciplined -- and he has time to figure out what he wants to do in the future.
Felicity turned seven this past year and is already dreaming about her own family, playing "house" with the cook's son and the maid's daughters. She also enjoys spending time playing on the palace lawns with
Prince Zane of Choltan, who celebrated his 10th birthday in Orantillo so that his parents could have meeting about keeping their rival countries at bay. They've also talked about arranging a marriage between
Felicity and
Zane, to cement the ally status of their two nations.
