This is Round Two of the Island Survivors congrats game! If you want to join, new sign-ups are always welcome (you can make it so your characters have been on the beach all along or that they were elsewhere on the island and found their way to/are discovered by the other survivors). Remember, you can respond to another player's post and pair up with them or you can be assigned another "character" to pair up with if you want. Feel free to post more pictures and write with as much detail as you want. I've really enjoyed everyone's stories! :)

It has been two months since the plane crash. The team put in charge of finding food and shelter came back with good news. They wandered the island, which turned out to be much larger than they expected, for several days. During their search they found several types of fruit trees, wild boar and turkey, as well as a few sources of fresh water. When they returned they reported that they had found some large caves further inland and plenty of material for building more permanent shelters. In light of their findings, Joel held another meeting and announced that Maya and Quan would lead everyone on the two day journey to the caves. He also assigned anyone who appeared to be physically fit to a building team. They would be in charge of building the shelters once they reached the caves. Many people objected to going. "Some of these people are injured and sick," one of the passengers argued. "Do you expect them to walk for two days and only to sleep in a wet cave?" Other people were excited about the journey and leaving the beach. "I never said this would be an easy task," Joel said in a loud voice that quieted the others. "But what options do you see we have? Anyone who says we should stay on the beach and wait for help is fooling themselves. We've been here for weeks already and it's time to stop waiting and start surviving." He glanced around at the others, waiting for someone to challenge him. When no one did he continued. "Now, Maya and Quan's team found food and water. That means our chances of survival have just doubled. The turkey and boar they brought back will last us a while, but a permanent hunting team will have to be put into place and for that we will need to be further inland." He took another look around at everyone and softened his voice. "I know everyone is scared and some are mourning the loss of their loved ones, but I believe we can make something good out of this. We don't have a choice about being on this island, so why not make it our island. When we reach the caves the first thing I will do is put our building team to work. And I will personally consult with each one of you so you can choose the location of your shelter. Everyone will be given their own space and their own home." The other passengers considered this while he spoke. "Some of the people with survival skills discovered plants, roots, and other things with medicinal properties on their search. This means Rachel can use these things to help the sick and injured. When we start building there will be a shelter specifically for medical care. And what about the children on the island? Should their education have to suffer because of the plane crash? I would like a couple volunteers who have experience with children to teach in our island school. My right hand man, Ben, and I will continue working on reaching help, but while we're on this island we're going to have to make the best of it."
After Joel's speech, the passengers begin preparing themselves for the two day trip to the caves. Then the next morning they set off. It is a long and hard journey and having to help the injured and small children makes it even harder. Inside the island's dense forest it is hot and humid, not to mention filled with large insects and wild animals, so everyone is on edge and uneasy. After a sleepless night with mosquitoes sucking the life from everyone, they continue on the last leg of their journey. The caves are on the other side of a cluster of rocks and cliffs, so it takes most of the day to help everyone climb it and many people are injured in the process. When they finally reach their destination they all let out a sigh of relief and collapse on the cool floor of the cave. Their journey is over, but now comes the hard task of building shelters and feeding the large group.

The survivors are finally off the beach, but after their hard journey through the island's dense forest and over rocks and cliffs, they are tired and some are injured. How do your survivors feel about relocating to the caves and how did they manage during the trip there? The island's leader, Joel, has delegated some of you to building teams, some to hunting teams, and others to teach children or do other small tasks. How do you feel about setting up a medical shelter, a school, and other permanent things on the island? And where do you tell the building team to put your new "home"?
