George Elliott is a great combo, and I don't think it's really a bad idea. They're both popular names so it doesn't sound too much like you're using it because of the author - in fact I think a lot of people might not even make that connection! (also
George Eliot was spelled differently)
Peter Elliott sounds fine too but
