After being locked in a tower for four years the Duke and Duchess of Solvene finally gained Queen Morgana's sympathy and convinced her to let them out. Of course, once Queen Morgana freed them the guards quickly found out and began fighting. Thinking quickly, Duke Elijah grabbed the injured Queen and held her in front of him, shouting for the King to come up and surrender his crown.
The King did come up the tower steps, after he had been alerted to the situation, but let the Duke and Duchess know that he would never surrender the title that had been in his family for generations.
The Duchess shrugged, smirking, "So be it." And the pair imprisoned the King and Queen, crowning themselves Imperator and Imperatress. They crowned Nethanel Prince in his absence as well as engaged Dorcas to the King and Queen's oldest son, to secure their line of succession.
Nethanel and his lovely wife, Lady Guinevere, have spent most of the last five years in Angleterra's neighbouring country of Francia and have welcomed three beautiful children together. Guinevere made herself active in the wool-trading business while Nethanel manned a bookshop and looked after the children. All in all they were very happy but when Geoffrey's latest letter came Guinevere asked Nethanel if they could go back to free him. Not being able to deny his wife anything he agreed, and the pair set about packing a few things.
Delilah made it to the Francian court about a year after her older brother left and quickly fell in love with the people and the energy there. She caught the eye of many a man but the one that she was intrigued by was the young Duke of Nieves, he was the only man who kept his distance. When she talked to him for the first time she found that he liked her too but was intimidated by the other men. After two years of conversations in the gorgeous gardens there he Delilah proposed to him and he gleefully accepted. She recently gave birth to a son and now lives with him at Nieves manor. He has been teaching her his language and the pair spend a great deal of time with their handsome newborn son.
Stephen and Nora have had three children in the past five years and Stephen is still being ignored by the Imperator and his wife but the pair are very happy. Nora spends her days farming and looking after their small children and Stephen is home as often as he can be.
Daniel is extremely proud of little Dorcas' drawing and painting skills and swears up and down that she will be a brilliant artist one day.
Miriam has been imprisoned for treason against the Imperator and his family. She is heavily pitied by the guards but taunted by the common criminals that her parents put her near. They often try to reach out and grab her but, fortunately, are not able to reach. Miriam maintains her pride and still makes sure to act like a 'proper lady'. She often wishes that her old friend Darius would visit her but knows that it would be a horrible idea since it could be taken as showing support for the old King and Queen.
Ariel and Penninah are still very close and try to still hang around Roland as often as possible in an effort to escape their parent's watch. The pair are thinking of going to Francia to visit either Nethanel and his family or Delilah and her new husband and son.
Dorcas has suffered the most from her parent's meddling. They have arranged a political marriage between her and the ex-Prince, in order to ensure that no one would question their rule. While Dorcas doesn't mind Tristan she wishes that she could have the freedom of her older siblings in choosing her spouse or that Daniel would take her out into the wilderness so that she could just paint and block out the world's troubles.
