[Facts] Re: name update + family trees
in reply to a message by Mike C
The family tree tool is absolutely great. Some ideas that maybe can do it greater:
a) Different background for the nicknames (stripped perhaps) just to be visually noticeable like the feminine forms.
b) When the forms have not other derivated forms, to group them. For instance, Josué in French, Spanish and Portuguese can be all in one single square, whereas Jesús in Spanish and Jesús in Catalan (if it was) would be in two separate squares because the Spanish nicknames are not valid for the Catalan.
I don't understand the value of the green frames.

a) Yes, that's a good idea
b) That's also a good idea, it would save some space. Might be a little tricky to program, but I will take a look at least.
As for the green frames, JHK has given you the right answer.

I think the green frames should make it easier to find the name you searched for in the big tree. I find that quite helpful, if you are looking for the position of a specific name in the tree instead of wanting to analyse the whole tree. Jane, for example is not that easy to find in the family tree of YAHWEH / YEHOCHANAN.
