Year 1, 2010:
Shea and I just graduated and finally saved enough to buy a small 2 bed 1 bath apartment in Dublin.
Year 2, 2011:
Suprise! We had a baby girl! She has black hair and green eyes like me, but curly hair. I had to be induced, but Dae
Vanessa was born on
April 7th at 3:25 in the morning.
Year 2, 2012:
This might be even a bigger suprise than having Dae, but we got a snake, despite
Shea's fear. He'll do anything for that little girl. She loves it so much, and we named her Night, beecause of her balck and yellow scales, and it was a pretty pathetic pun for Dae. I don't know why, but for a 1 year old, Dae, is extremely brave to want a snake!
Year 3, 2013:
Dae seemed so lonely all the time, being 2 she needs to have someone else to be around, so we adopted! A littly girl from Japan, the same age as Dae, named
Saki Tomomi. And the crazy thing is, she was born just a day before Dae,
April 6th! She's beautiful with the classic oriental look and Dae has already fallen in love with her! She keeps begging
Saki to play dress up with her, and slowly
Saki is getting used to her. We all love her so much!
Year 4, 2014:
Terrible news!
Shea's sister and brother-in-law passed away in a plane crash a few weeks ago, leaving their to children in our care. Their four-year-old daughter
Salena will get along well with Dae and
Saki, but their sixteen-year-old daughter
Josephina (
Josie) is still greieving for her parents. We are happy for more children, but are feeling cramped in our small space. Dae, now 3,
Saki, and
Salena share Dae's room, but
Josie prefers to sleep on the couch. Hopefully we will have enough money for a new home soon.
Year 5, 2015:
What will happen next?
Saki's been diagnosed with lung cancer, due to the terrible drug use she was exposed to. We are all fighting for our little baby, and hope she will be better. After all,
Saki has always been a fighter.
Josie is having a hard time with all that's been going on, and she decided to get a job at the animal shelter. She says she would like to move out when she turns eighteen, so she's starting to save some money for an apartment.
Shea and I think it's because she feels bad about our financial situation...and might be tired of sleeping on the couch.
Year 6, 2016:
I don't know what drove us to it, but we've adopted again!
Josie moved out, and we now have some extra space. He's a boy...finally!... and is five years old. His birthday is November 2nd, and he sleeps in our room because we felt didn't want him surrounded by girls. He is now our youngest, a year younger than
Saki and Dae, and two years younger than
Salena. He is from the Carribean and his name is
Reynaud, but we all call him Rey. He has adapted nicely and loves us all.
Year 7, 2017:
The tables have turned! I recently got to quit my job as the secretary for a law firm, and I know get to be a stay at home mom! Why? Because
Shea just finished med school! He is now a doctor, and works about 45 minutes away...so I hope with the new income and distance we may be able to move.
Year 8, 2018:
Again! We have been blessed with identical triplets;
Layla, Shayla,and
Kayla! They have beautiful brown curly hair with green eyes. They were born on October 9th and all are ours...not adopted this time! We are really going to have to move now! Dae and
Saki are 8,
Salena is 9, Rey is 7, and
Josie is 20, but we still keep in contact with her. We are moving Rey into the girls room, and he understands...which is great. Now our three new girls will be with us in our room.
Year 9, 2019:
Another animal! All
Saki talks about are hamsters, so we decided to get her one, because we don't want her to leave us without getting a hamster...she is still battling cancer. He is brown and white and his name is Morris...we love him as much as we love Night...who eyes
Morris occationally.
Year 10, 2020:
Wonderful amazing news!
Shea has been promoted! We are celebrating at Disney World, and we may never leave. The trip has been fun, yet tough for
Saki and all the rest of the children are enjoying it. I have had to miss out on some of the rides because of our triplets, now 2, but it has all been a wonderful experience.
Year 11, 2021:
Shea got transfered even farther away now, Hawaii! Wow, we are actually going to move! Everyone is excited, especially Rey, now 10, who is getting is own room. Everyone except our triplets, now 3, get their own room! We are all very excited.
Year 12, 2022:
Finally, my dream come true! We thought some warmer weather would also do
Saki some good. The cancer is getting worse, she spends most of her time in the hospital, but maybe this will cheer her up. WE live in a beach house on the Big Island, and I'm so happy, as is everyone else. Although, sometimes it seems that Dae, now 11, misses sharing with
Saki.
Salena loves it though, she is very girly girl while Dae and
Saki are kind of rough and tomboy, but very sweet. Rey loves the ocean and the forrests, or "jungles" that are behind us, which is where he spends most of his time.
Shayla,
Kayla, and
Layla love the ocean and the sand, they are now 4. Finally, a dream come true.
Year 13, 2023:
Our spare bedroom isn't a spare anymore! Adoption...again. We have a little girl from Columbia. Her birthday is
May 25th and is 10 years old. She has been jumping from foster home to foster home and now is very grateful and loving towards us, as we are toward her. Her name is
America, but we call her
Merry. She is second youngest, but gets along well with the girls, even though Dae and
Saki, now 13!, and
Salena, now 14, are all older than her. Rey is 12, but she does get some little sisters,
Layla,
Shayla, and
Kayla, who are 5.
Year 14, 2024:
I can barely even write this. After battling cancer for 9 years,
Saki has lost, and dies two nights ago in her bed while she was sleeping. Everyone has taken this as a very hard blow, especially Dae.
Saki had been her best friend forever, and now everything is changed. The thing is,
Saki knew what was coming. The night she died, before she went to sleep, she said if the cancer took her, she wanted to be cremated and have her ashes spread in the Irish sea, a place we frequently took our children when we lived in
Ireland. We are going there next week. We all miss
Saki dearly.
Year 15, 2025:
Although no child will be able to fill
Saki's empty place, we have adopted again. It would've been what
Saki wanted. Dae understands, and even is letting us use
Saki's room as the new child's room. She is 9 years old and is from the Phillipenes. She is a little shy, but very caring and sweet.
Shea and I think she and
Salena will become best friends, despite the age difference. Her birthday is
September 25, and her name is
Etsuko, called Suki by all of us. It goes with her name and sounds like Saki...which is a coincidence. We love her much and will be starting school soon.
America is also very good friends with Suki too, since they are closer in age. Here is the family:
Me (
Allie): 39
Shea: 42 Dae: 15
Saki: 15
Salena: 16
Josie: 23 Rey: 14
Layla,
Kayla,
Shayla: 8
America: 12 Suki: 10
Pets: Night (snake): 13
