The thing with India is that people in different regions are likely to have different types of names, based on religious affiliations, regional history, and regional culture. That said, some of the more trendy/popular girl names in India include:
Arpita
Ekta
Kanyakumari
Kavita - which I have seen in use
Laxmi
Mandakranta
Mrignayani
Parvati
Priyamvada
SeemaI rather like Kanyakumari, myself.
