If a name has to be followed by "At least you could call her..." then that is a general indicator that no, it does not work.
Just Berry (and Cherry) is a GP of mine but that is with some emphasis on guilty.
One of my "adopted" punctuation marks that I have listed in my profile on this site is Miinan, Anishinaabemowin for blueberry. I think something like that would have name potential--same meaning, but more subtle and could be namelike. Of course that completely defeats the purpose of having Blueberry itself as the name; I can imagine it's more the sound than the appeal of the berry that you like. :-P

Don't get me wrong, I love Blueberry in its full form. It's just that if it got too complicated for her or if she had problems with it she could go by Blue, which used to be quite trendy as a middle name and would probably be easier for her to live with. I would probably use it as a middle name, though.
