I love Indigo, but only for a girl. I prefer Indiana for a boy.:)

I like it for a girl, but strictly GP, would never actually use. I don't like it on a boy, it's too "hippy".

I like it, I don't know if I'd use it, but it's cute and I'd prefer it on a girl.

i named my daughter Indigo. at the time i debated whether it was too masculine but i feel it goes for either gender. i love the name and most people that hear it do too. good luck.

Do you find that you call her Indigo all the time or do you shorten it to Indie or any other names?? Did you catch any static from your parents, etc???

I like it on a boy, but, like most other word names for me, only as a middle name. My combo for it is Dominick Indigo.

I adore it for a boy or girl!

It's a daring choice - unique!
It makes me think of Inigo Jones, the famous English architect.

I like it quite a bit for a boy, but would only use it as a middle name.

I personally dislike it (a lot). I'd never heard of it until I came to this site and then was surprised to learn that it was a boy's name. It just seems so feminine to me, probably because it's a color and a plant and those seem more like things girls would be named after. And it seems so naturey, which isn't my style. But if you like it a lot, I'd say go for it, although I know how disappointing it is when grandparents don't like the name you do. At least to me.

I love it on a boy, and honestly, it's not your grandparents' child -- use a name that you like.

I agree [m]most of my names my parents hate but it's not their future grandkid so they have no say, lol.

I don't like it personally. I dislike the sound, the trendy feel and how it looks on paper. I'm not even a huge fan of the colour really.I think it's such an unusual name (not being traditionally used, ending in an o sound etc) it would get love/hate responces. And, this is your child. I'm probably not the only one on this board who will say to you that the naming of your child is up to you and your significant other, and although it's nice to hear comments from the grandparents, it ultimately is not their decision to make.
