[Opinions] I think of George Eliot...
Who was actually a Marianne. I far prefer Mariana, pronounced the Spanish way - mahr-ree-ahna. It's quite pretty, and very old-fashioned.
I find Mary Anne very, very prissy (even though I know one and she isn't), but Marianne is sweet.

Huh...I wiki'd here, and it's spelt Mary Ann (Marian), but I've only ever seen it Marianne. Weird.
