[Facts] Pronunciation of Leif in different Scandinavian languages
A poster on another board -- who claims she is from Norway and that Leif is her husband's name -- says that in most of Norway Leif is pronounced like the English word "life" and it only rhymes with "safe" in a "few Norwegian dialects."
Is this correct? And if so, is the name normally said as "Layf" in Swedish and Danish?
